If you’re anything like us then you’re probably planning to get some quality chill time in with a movie or two over the next couple of days. That’s where a streamer like Netflix comes in handy: it’s fully-loaded with fantastic films, and we’re here to help you narrow down which ones you need to watch as soon as possible.
We’ve cheated a bit this weekend: this is technically a list of 12 new to Netflix movies. As well as the great new Peaky Blinders film, and action flick War Machine, Netflix has sneakily added all 10 movies in a beloved horror franchise to its service. Do you want to play a game and guess which one it is?

This long-awaited sequel movie to the hit British drama more than lives up to expectations. Set several years after the show, Peaky Blinders: The Immortal Man brings Cillian Murphy’s Tommy Shelby out of self-imposed exile and back to a Birmingham now in the grip of the Blitz. Shelby thought he’d put his violent past behind him, but he remains haunted by the loss of his daughter Ruby. Will he find redemption in his old city, or simply more bloodshed?
The always-in-demand Murphy has stated that this movie will be the last time that he plays one of his most iconic roles. That lends an ominous tone to this final chapter in the current Peaky Blinders saga. Don’t worry, though – the BBC is already at work on a follow up series.

If you’re a horror movie fan then Netflix has got a treat for you this week. The streamer has just dropped all 10 instalments of the twisty, nasty Saw series – the first time the entire franchise has been available to stream in one place, in fact.
The series probably needs no introduction, but if you’ve somehow never seen any of them, then start with the first film. It’s still the best of the bunch and has a simple but ingenious premise, when two strangers wake up in a room with a corpse and must figure out how to escape. The only trouble is, their captor, the mysterious “Jigsaw” has given them both different missions to complete if they want to survive. The rest of the franchise ranges from brilliant to dreadful – such is the way with long-running horror series – but they’re always worth checking out.

WAR MACHINE | Official Trailer | Netflix – YouTube

This sci-fi action movie, starring Reacher’s Alan Ritchson, dropped onto Netflix earlier this month and has been lodged in its top 10 movies list ever since. Ritchson plays an unnamed US Army Staff Sergeant who joins the 75th Ranger Regiment. As he is undergoing his training, his squad comes under attack from an unexpected enemy: a killer robot, likely from outer space!
It’s a pulpy premise, but one that allows for some exciting and visceral action sequences. War Machine is basically Predator with a mech and if you’re the sort of person who finds that premise enticing, you’ll likely love this one! It’s good, tough action movie fun, with a solid lead in Ritchson.
