Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were ripped to shreds on TalkTV as presenter Kevin O’Sullivan and his guest Angela Levin discussed the disaster their Hollywood dream has become. Their discussion came after after a number of damaging claims about the couple appeared in a piece by Hollywood Bible, Variety. Levin, who is a royal biographer and commentator, admitted the couple are concerned about the situation as O’Sullivan said: “The other tenet of this article was that nobody wants to know them in Hollywood. They’re toxic. They are pariahs. No one will work with them. They got no money coming in now their Hollywood dream has ended in disaster. It’s turned into a nightmare, hasn’t it?
Pointing out that they had called in the lawyers about the article Levin acknoledged things were no going to plan for the couple.
“It’s funny and sad but it’s so quick that the wording was changed. It’s fascinating. They are concerned, because as you say she hasn’t got much money, but she’s probably got enough money to sort people out, and she won’t have it,” she speculated.
“The trouble with her is that she doesn’t ever try and look at herself [as the problem]…we all have to do that. If things go wrong, we have to think, what have we done wrong? What are we like?
“But Megan thinks she’s perfect. It’s always that she’s the most wonderful girl. She’s very clever, she’s very beautiful,” Levin said appraising the Duchess’ attitude.
Reflecting on an incident she had seens she said: “…I saw her hugging a friend who was pregnant, but she sort of pushed the friend a bit out of the way, and there she was with a big belly, and she was looking and doing all this sort of [posing]…
“And she doesn’t actually realise that sometimes you need to step back and let somebody else have all the lights. And she just won’t do that. And it’s just got worse so much she will not listen,” Levin observed.
In one of the bombshell claims in the report, sources alleged Meghan thinks that Hollywood is “her domain” and that tends to “talk over or recast” her husband’s thoughts, “usually preceded by a touch to the arm or thigh”.
But the couple’s attorney, Michael J. Kump, responded to claims in a letter to the publication, which said that they “seem calculated to play into the misogynistic characterisation of her bossing her husband around”. Meanwhile, Prince Harry is said to “attest” the claim, saying it’s “categorically false”.
Other bombshell claims in the cover story, which focused on their partnership with Netflix, included a claim Meghan “was known to ‘disappear’ for long periods during Zoom calls.” Later, reportedly Netflix teams like the marketing department would be informed that her absence was due to her being offended by something that was said.
In response to that, Meghan’s lawyer said that she “works from home, is the mother of young children aged 4 and 6, and often encounters (as many parents who work from home do) children who enter the space unexpectedly during a meeting. Independent of being a parent who works from home, Meghan is also conscious of shielding her team from the distraction of children.
