Known as a celebrity favorite and internet star, Junior Cookies has just opened its third location in Studio City.
“Our difference is this, you come into the store and we bake the cookies in small batches but we put the toppings to order. So it’s a different concept because it’s made to order here,” said Halil Sevis, who along with his family opened the first Junior Cookies in West Hollywood in 2022. A second location later opened in Santa Monica.
“When people bite them they’re like ‘what is this’ because we don’t buy things in wholesale, we make everything ourselves,” he added.
The new 1,100-square-foot bakery, at 12180 Ventura Blvd., held its grand opening on March 18. The bakery is known for its bite-size cupcake-style cookies that are made daily using a family recipe.

“I’ve cooked all my life and my mom and my sister are great cooks too. So we started this from home and we started cookies in the shape of cupcakes and then we just started selling them,” he said. “We weren’t expecting much out of it but then the pandemic happened and lockdown happened” — and that’s when their sales blew up.
Pretty soon word began to spread, with celebrities like Kris Jenner and Alex Cooper raving about the cookies, which are generally less sweet and made with ingredients like Belgian chocolate, fruits, house-made creams, and jams.
“They’re my mom’s recipes. We make them all together but she’s the main genius behind them,” Sevis added.
Some of the business’s creations include the Raspberry Lemon Cheesecake, Apricot and Pistachio Cookie Cup, the Corn Flakes Brownie Cookie Cup and a S’mores cookie. And if you have a dog, bring it over because the shop also bakes cookies for canines.
