Runway star Rosie Huntington-Whitely, 38, and her significant other, actor Jason Statham, 58, have remained one of Hollywood’s most private couples for 16 years, keeping their family life in London with their two children largely out of the spotlight. But one recent development in their long-term relationship has been a “nightmare”, Rosie revealed in a new interview in which she gave rare insight into her private life.

The former Victoria’s Secret Angel and The Transporter star, who got engaged a decade ago, have spent the past two years building their dream home together. The couple, who live in a Georgian townhouse in London, have been deeply involved in the process – albeit with differing views.

“Jason has the most impeccable taste,” Rosie praised her partner, who is 20 years her senior, in her March cover interview with Vogue Australia.

“He taught me so much about architecture and furniture,” she added.

But speaking of their house-making journey, Rosie admitted with a laugh: “He’ll say it’s been a nightmare, while the model loves the interiors. Later in the interview, Rosie sweetly said that being with Jason for 16 years is “very grounding”.

Rosie and Jason first met in London at a party in 2009. After nearly a decade of dating, they got engaged in 2016, but have not yet tied the knot. While they haven’t officially walked down the aisle yet, they’ve built a life together with two young children. The pair welcomed their first child, son Jack, in June 2017, and their second, a daughter named Isabella, in February 2022.

In her recent interview in Sydney, Rosie praised the Australian lifestyle as “chilled” and “healthy”, with the outlet writing that the model and her partner were having an ongoing debate about relocating with their children.

“I see it on the horizon,” Rosie admitted. “A month or two to really get our feet in the sand.” Jason, whose work has taken him to places like Malta and Ireland, previously filmed part of his 2011 thriller Killer Elite in Victoria, Australia.

Rosie is her partner’s number one supporter. The couple have made rare joint appearances over the years at fashion shows and movie premieres – including on a red carpet in January to celebrate Jason’s latest adventure film, Shelter.

Jason brought his partner as his special date to the star-studded London premiere on 20 January as they enjoyed a night out without the kids. Rosie looked glamorous for the occasion in a sequin crop top and black leather pants while Jason made a dapper appearance in a suit and tie. Rosie was also Jason’s date for the premiere of his 2024 film, The Beekeeper.
