Avatar: Fire and Ash, the third instalment in James Cameron’s sci-fi saga, has landed a digital release date. Available to watch from 31 March (via People), the film, which grossed $1.5 billion worldwide, is coming to Prime Video and Apple TV.
Alongside the three-movie collection, fans looking to buy Avatar: Fire and Ash will also gain access to three hours of never-before-seen bonus content, with extras delving into the filmmaking process.
As for a Disney+ release, fans will likely not be able to expect it on the streamer until June at the earliest.

A sequel to 2022’s Avatar: The Way of Water, Cameron’s latest chapter follows Jake Sully (Sam Worthington) and Neytiri (Zoe Saldaña) as they continue to mourn the loss of their son, Neteyam (Jamie Flatters), while encountering a dangerous new clan called the Mangkwan or Ash People.
Boasting a star-studded cast, Worthington and Saldaña are joined by Sigourney Weaver, Stephen Lang, Oona Chaplin, Kate Winslet, Cliff Curtis, Joel David Moore, David Thewlis and more.
A critical and commercial success, Avatar: Fire and Ash is currently scored at 66% on Rotten Tomatoes.

“[The] series, maintained with exceptional attention to detail by Cameron, remains a gargantuan spectacle unmatched by anything else in Hollywood,” wrote The New York Post. “More than once during its 195-minute runtime, I shook my head and laughed. How the hell did they do that?”
Meanwhile, Empire Magazine mused: “Anyone hoping for a seismic shift in the overall saga should recalibrate their expectations. Still, this is about the most spectacular spectacle you could ever ask for – utterly transportive, technically masterful.”
Echoing this sentiment, in our three-star review, we noted that while the filmmaking was “impressive”, the third instalment was plagued by a sense of “déjà vu”, with the general plot repeating the same “catch-and-rescue formula” that we saw in Avatar and Avatar: The Way of Water.
Avatar: Fire and Ash can be pre-ordered on Prime Video now, where it is expected to land on 31 March. A Disney+ release date is yet to be confirmed.
