So since Andrew and Sarah were terrible – harry and Meghan will be terrible too? It seems like someone desperate to sell a book forcing a connection that isn’t there. I really hate that the four of them are lumped together when they have so little in common. Andrew and Sarah were incredibly close with a famous pedophile and sex trafficker, Meghan makes jam and did a Netflix show. One seems MUCH worse to me and I’m tired of the gaslighting that a woman trying to start a lifestyle brand is worse than a sex trafficker with no remorse.

This is a decent article that brings up some interesting points. It never says Harry and Meghan are just like Andrew and Fergie (for those claiming it does) it says they’re only alike in the sense that peripheral royals often ruin theirselves by associating with wealthy benefactors who turn out to be awful people and discusses how the monarchy can avoid that in the future.
This is an issue the monarchy has always had. Only two people in that family have money: the monarch and the heir because they’re the only two that actually control land. So you have this situation where peripheral royals have a parent or a sibling with extreme wealth while they have none, which causes issues later in life for them because they also feel that they’re owned perks and luxuries, this leads to them hanging around and giving favors to any rich person that’ll fund their lifestyle.
The example of Meghan insisting on flying private in Nigeria and so accepting a gift of the use of a private plane that ended up being from a money laundering criminal is an example of this.
So let’s say you’re William, how do you contain this? How to you make sure it doesn’t occur to your younger children? Do you just give people money and say “please behave”, ok what if they blow through that money? Do you go no contact and hope when scandal inevitably turns up you can protect yourself by saying, “I’m not close to that person”
