Real things I’ve seen as a Paramedic. No one in the medical field ever wants to hear this #leg #knee

    1. Years ago we had a young lady African American come to our ER. She couldn't specifically State her symptoms so we ran a bunch of tests and we couldn't find anything wrong when I went to tell her the results and we couldn't find anything she said look if you send me home I'm going to die. So I told the ER doctor and he said all right. We're going to run all the labs more Labs than normal and we did and found a slightly elevated lab that indicated she might have a clot. So we went ahead and tested for that. She had a saddle pulmonary emboli and if we sent her home she probably would have died

    2. I actually had a DVT under my collarbone and my whole left arm swelled up like that. It didn’t get that purple. It was just red and it looked like I was at the gym for one arm.

I ended up having to go to the hospital for them to balloon open my vein and then I was on blood thinners for a few months and actually had an elective surgery to remove one of my ribs to create space so the vein would it get pinched again.

Crazy shit I’m only 33. This can happen to anyone so if you have crazy symptoms, please get it checked out thank God my sister is a nurse and she was close by and told me I had to go to the hospital. No one there at the hospital could figure out what was wrong with a perfectly healthy young man until they got a radiologist.

When I would lift my arm over my head, my vein would be pinched completely closed, all the surgeons were like whoa dude that’s crazy!!!

    3. It's always the people with the worst possible symptoms that want to walk to the ambulance or say "I think it'll pass by itself". Meanwhile, you are guaranteed to pick up Jimmy every Wednesday with back pain or a pimple on their butt, suitcase ready, jumping to the back without assistance and perfect vitals.

    4. Don’t you love the fake OF accounts posting normal comments, so they get you to look at their profile picture, and hope you get sucked in because you’re that desperate. I hate Youtube. They need to clamp down.

    5. I hate that I know that sign on the car door is real. As my father once told me as a former paramedic, if there's a blockage, there's only one way for it to go.

    6. Wow thanks for sharing this, I had no idea. I have a rare blood disease that creates blood clots, I had 3 incidents & finally they figured out what it was. Good to know this is an indicator of some symptoms.
