So this is a really interesting example of someone ‘bringing’ their own background to a carpet via their clothing. The way it sits on her head when she’s front-facing almost makes it seem like a chair back or a pillow, and it really accentuates the pinkness of her skin tone and prevents her from looking washed out and pale. And it gets away with the size because it’s simple, there’s no ostentatious baubles or anything distracting.
Then when she’s taken from an angle, she has this mysterious, waifish look that almost reminds me of a Geisha.
Genuinely cool stylistic choices, it really suits her and classes things up without being too stuffy.
