Olympian Nikki Hiltz: “I don’t know who needs to hear this but ZERO trans women competed in the Paris Olympics. Only ONE trans woman competed in Tokyo and she did not medal. Can we please stop obsessing over trans people and focus time, energy and resources into real problems women’s sports face?”

Yes! It’s such a waste of time and resources to be worried about a non-existent issue.

It’s so pathetic. The president of America is a rapist pedo and an actual danger to women but let’s focus all our attention on trans women because…..????

Even if they allowed more trans women to compete they’re such a small number of them (shrink the number even more to trans women who can be Olympic athletes and have the fitness and talent for it) it would still be negligible. They’re not even winning when they compete but I’m glad they had the experience ❤️

And/or even real problems women face 🤷‍♀️cis or trans out in the wild. But sincere thanks, Nikki for speaking truth with your platform.

I urge everyone to listen to the NPR podcast series called Tested: A surprising History of Women’s Sport. Deep dives into all the DNA testing and hormone limits women have been going through over the years. Making it so hard for cis women with PCOS or dna mutations to compete. And of course even worse towards intersex and trans women.

  6. As a longtime track fan I fucking love Nikki Hiltz, they’re everything right with the sport. And they’re fucking fast!!

After thousands of years, someone is now trying to make sports “fair.” Good luck!

Conservatives need an enemy to focus on so their base doesn’t remember that their president is covering up a pedophile ring

  9. And this is also disproportionately going to hit female athletes of color. Whatever kind of testing that they’re supposed to be using, haven’t there been doubts, raised about these sort of genetic testing things anyway?

This is all so unnecessary, blatantly, sucking up to fascists, and it helps no one and harms actual athletes, as well as the development of future athletes.

And there is nothing mentioned applying to men here, first because many of these bigots believe the trans men either don’t exist or are really women and a lot of this is rooted in misogyny anyway, but this is also all very much discrimination.

Rules for women, but no special rules for men.

Because misogyny and convenient bigotry and political kneeling.

None of this helps those of us who’ve been traumatized and hurt by cisgender men.

It’s so depressing that all you need to do to get people on board with a policy that will hurt all women is to frame it as something that is designed to hurt trans women specifically, because what this policy actually mandates is kereotype testing for everyone who wishes to compete in the women’s division.

A lot of cis women athletes are going to realize that they are intersex and be banned from competition because it’s turns out that they have a Y chromosome.

  11. Yes, all of those points are good and valid, and also I can’t help but feel they’ll do some creepy, violating tests to “verify” that the women athletes are women.

We’ve already had some creeps insist that women prove themselves in like bathrooms and shit. It’s plenty bad already that trans panic shit affects trans women, but the truth is that it affects all women

No, we must pretend to care about women’s sports — but just one this one non-issue!
