I am really worried for all US folks that there is so much focus on these midterms being the big thing that’s going to change things. It’s great to keep hope but please also start to steel yourself for what will come after them. I know this sub swings more left than the liberals / centrists who are putting out this message so maybe I’m preaching to the choir… but at this point thinking elections are going to fix the political state of the US seems hopelessly naive to me as an outsider.

OK, but we all know that voting is not enough, right? Democrats are not gonna stop the genocide in Palestine. Or the wars in Iran and other North African/Arabic countries. They are not going to abolish ICE. Voting will not defeat the fascists at all. It’s gonna take a lot more than that.

I think we need Guthrie’s original version more than ever, in fact:
