Back in the day, Lena Headey was one bad ass actress having starred in films like 300 as well as quintessential TV series like Game of Thrones. She even killed it as Sarah Conner in Terminator: The Sarah Conner Chronicles so to see such a powerful actress return to action with heavy emotional depth is a surefire hit. Headey headlines director Chad Faust’s newest drama about a mother who discovers that she was somewhat involved in the death of her son in Afghanistan. Tormented by grief and guilt, she wages a one-woman war on those that did her son wrong in the thriller that looks to slice the tension with a knife. Check out Headey in action below!
Synopsis: When a soldier’s mother (Lena Headey) discovers the bullet that killed her son in Afghanistan was made at the factory where she works, she sets out on a path of revenge against those responsible.
Chad Faust helms from a script he wrote. Amybeth McNulty and Hamza Haq round out the main cast which also includes Faust in a small role. Jordan Kronis, Amanda Brugel, Enrico Colantoni as Rick Barber, Paolo Mancini, and Kendall Christie also star. David Tish, Lee Nelson, Roman Kopelevich and Crystal Hill produce.
Trailer reaction delivers the needed pathos to make genre fans wanna watch this and Headey looks incredible in the role as a mother who has reached her limits. She is one actress who has delivered the grit and bravado in the past that she is always welcomed in these roles. This looks more like a drama or thriller than an action flick, but this still has massive amounts of chair grabbing tension and vigilante infused thrills. Headey does look to employ some tactical skillsets here but I’m all in for the film as a parent who would also do anything for their child.
