    DAYS needs to have him do a short storyline arc! I love when celebrities are fans of the show…they're really just like us on the inside.

      Cute story: my friend was waiting tables at this cafe in la and he came in and just waited to be seated like everybody else and was super chill. When he realised my friend who took his order was starstruck and couldnā€™t remember what he ordered he was sooo sweet and patted her arm (in an appropriate non creepy manner) and was like itā€™s ok, donā€™t worry. When he was done with his food he went up to her and thanked her and wished her a good day. He just seems like a genuinely sweet person

      I’m Ryan’s age and was also obsessed with DOOL, though I was a Carrie/Austin shipper. I got SO sick of the possession storyline.

      The best part of this is he is acknowledging the impact of soap operas; people may see those as having weird storylines but they require some really good acting (I say this as a General Hospital fan, lol).

      Ryan was sticking up for soap actors on a podcast when this all came about. He is a gem and I would love to see him make a guest appearance on DOOL.

      ā€œGosling had told Happy Sad Confused host Josh Horowitz that he was a loyal Days of Our Lives viewer in the 1990s and was wowed by Hall’s acting after her character, Marlena Evans, gets possessed by the devil. The Barbie actor said he recently turned the show on again and found her in another possession.

      Gosling told Horowitz that soap opera actors “do not get the love they deserve” for learning pages of dialogue on the fly and playing out “impossible scenarios.”

      The Drive star thanked Hall for the offer to visit Days of Our Lives, saying he’d come “any time, anywhere” for her.

      “I’m not worried about the possession, I’ll say a Hail Mary before I get there,” he joked. “It’ll be fine and I’ll see you on set.”

      As an elder millennial who was obsessed with Days during the whole possession storyline this is amazing

      I was a big fan of Days back in the 80s up until the late 2000s. I quit watching when Belle and the teens took over (the actress playing Jan Spears took me out because her acting was so atrocious), but came back when Marlena was possessed. As a horror fan, I loved this storyline and it was actually pretty creepy.

      Soap acting gets so much flak but those actors and actresses work their butts off, and they’ve had to do some outrageous plots (like the Eterna storyline on One Life to Live where the cast wore futuristic jumpsuits in a secret underground city and Viki Lord discovered she gave birth to a long lost daughter there), or Reva being cloned on Guiding Light. Ryan’s a doll for sticking up for the genre and the actors.
