This would have hit harder if she was a random aspiring actress and not a nepo baby. Not saying it’s justified (if true), but maybe her having famous parents had something to do with it. They might have misconstrued her “politeness” as “self-importance”.

The fact that she appears to have never considered this is annoying.

  2. Hollywood is weird. It is easy to be mean. Being polite is better than being a complainer

she has this great personality why does she keep getting roles in awful movies.

Why does it not surprise – men want women to have only a few certain types of personalities. And that’s not one of them

Is she sure it was that or the fact that she has the emotional range of a cardboard

I mean it balances out all the roles she did get despite her acting being flat as fuck.

my only issue with this is that she’s an atrociously bad actress who’s treated like hollywood royalty because her parents are famous. so this story doesn’t quite land with me.

  8. I mean, that’s shitty but also a typical red flag from an employer. Shows the set experience would have likely been crap.

I had the same once. Interviewed for a job and during the interview I had a bad vibe from the team leader interviewing me and she made me not wanna work for her anymore.

Then during the interview she coldly tells me “you smile a lot”. WHAT AM I SUPPOSED TO SAY TO THAT!? I said “yeah? I suppose I do?” To which she responded “you’re, like, very smiley. You smile a lot” as if it was a bad thing.

I will always have love for Dakota for shutting down Ellen De Generes in the most polite way possible.

  10. Huh! I could see it coming off as a little… like annoying if the actor is super famous and you feel like they’re trying to be like yes I’m doing a favor by introducing myself and auditioning in person, but most famous actors don’t audition like this (this was probably before she was successful?) so I assume it wasn’t that. What weird feedback.

  11. Whatever happened to fair dealing? And pure ethics. And nice manners? Why is it everyone now is a pain in the ass? Whatever happened to class?

  12. I mean, it’s reasonable to see why they’d think that way, like it was a reminder for them that she is the daughter of two famous people. The fact that she blames it on simply just being too polite instead of attributing it to that very obvious fact shows that she is pompous.

A lot of casting directors and their assistants are the ones who can be cocky and arrogant. The best ones are polite across the board and are focused on is the person correct for the role and not focused on anything else.

Dakota Johnson is a class act.
I am glad she’s a success story and has stuck to her values.
