The racism the girls in katseye’s face is insane. I’ve seen people deny manon black heritage and call Lara slurs
It’s insane that even someone as objectively attractive as her would have these issues
Edit: did I express myself incorrectly? The “insane” doesn’t refer to her feeling that way but to society telling an objectively beautiful woman that she wasn’t beautiful.
Yeah, the realizing your good-looking in college was crazy for me, cause I had no self esteem whatsoever (still don’t ngl) and bfs would walk allll over me and I wasn’t even aware of it.
Yeah I don’t think people understand the severity of racism.
this is for everyone who is quick to defend any celebrity/influencer when it comes to racist tweets or comments from the past. “people can change!” “that was so long ago!” “we were all edgy teenagers once!” fuck literally every single person who defends it.
your racist edgy phase is someone’s *life* long trauma.
Even going to a diverse high school in Southern CA, it seems like the class clowns decided one year that swastikas, heils, and racial humor was peak comedy and just kept doing it over and over. Very tiresome.

Am I out of touch or are these girls starting to show a lot of stress way faster than pop girl groups used to. They must be getting an unreal amount of hate and pressure in a really short time.
Everytime a non black person gets exposed for being anti black when they were younger everyone is more than ready to dismiss it with “they were a teen/a kid” because plp do not care nor do they see blk children as children who should be protected
This is so real. Thats why I hate when ppl use age as an excuse for why they were racist. Theres still someone else on the other side of that.
People, you are not allowed to forgive yourself for others, nor forgive others behavior on their behalf of being “Young and dumb”. Only the people you have harmed can forgive you, and racism harms everyone. Not everyone has a racist phase. Bigotry isn’t a fun joke.

I too used to find myself undesirable until I started uni, I was always being told I was “pretty for a black girl” or asked if I was mixed race cause I was hot… It’s sad even she dealt with the same feelings of inferiority when we are beautiful
She described my high school experience to a tee, hearing my classmates openly talk about how they thought Black girls were ugly and would never date one destroyed my self esteem and it took a long time for me to be able to recover. I hate how much of a common experience this is for Black women.
This is one of the weirdest things white people say. “Yes I casually had an edgy teenage phase where I was racist and a Nazi” and act like its so relatable! Its such a huge disconnect because as a once teenager I can’t relate to that at all.
Racism still being a big part of white American culture is why having racist phases is still accepted as “normal” among them, and POC kids are casualties of this mentality.
White people when empathy towards anyone that isn’t white. Can’t believe y’all think it’s okay to be like “haha sorry that was just me in my racist phase.” Genuinely wtf? Must be nice to never have this extra layer of trauma growing up and as an adult.
