At Broadway Backwards Dylan Mulvaney shared a stirring performance of “Edelweiss” from The Sound of Music. “As queer people, we’re often trying to top ourselves – no pun intended. But tonight, I chose something a bit more simple. It’s a song I love to sing, and it’s one that brings me hope.”

She has a lovely, lovely voice.
Oh I used to SOB as a little kid to this song, and couldn’t articulate why (naturally). What a lovely moment for her to create.
Her voice work is really paying off. Beautiful
I think this is so very, very beautiful, especially when you think about the original context of this song. How it’s sung by someone watching their homeland become something cruel and unrecognizable; how the singer knows they, personally, are a target of that cruelty; how they invite everyone in the audience to, nonetheless, “bless my homeland forever” all together.
Thank you for sharing this beautiful video and for introducing me to Dylan Mulvaney! I got goosebumps singing along.
Powerful voice, more powerful message
She has such a beauty and light to her that is just so stunning to see.
Sing your song Queen!
Cryin in the club rn. I love Dylan, this is such a beautiful song!
Beautiful beautiful beautiful—herself, her voice, her message.
This is one of my favorite songs ever, and she sings it beautifully.
Beautiful. I started crying when she got the audience to sing along. Just like in the movie.
I knew/know nothing about Dylan apart from how bored I was of seeing her every other day on every feed, when she first seemed to pop up. But I genuinely didn’t realise she was so talented. Fair play indeed. She has a lovely voice.
It makes me a sad how little I see of Dylan these days, though maybe I’ve been looking in the wrong places.
Bless her.
Profound and timely performance.
She’s amazing
We don’t deserve her but we need her

Her voice is gorgeous
Very poignant.
Gosh, I’m so proud of her. I’ve followed her from the beginning of her journey towards her true self. Dylan is so talented and joyous and lovely.
This gave me chills. She is so beautiful, so well spoken, has such an amazing presence. Voice is absolutely stunning. The message hits so hard right now. Love her down.
Watched it, got choked up, made my husband watch it with me, started sobbing. This meets the moment for me in ways I absolutely was not expecting.
as someone who was in a high school theater program with her this warms my heart beyond all belief 🥹
Oooooo she’s been vocal training! Absolutely gorgeous!
😭😭😭😭😭 so beautiful
I know the song predates the sound of music but this is so the scene where captain von Trapp sings it during the talent show and the audience sings it with him much to the chagrin of the nazis who forced him to perform
What a beautiful moment.
