I genuinely can’t grasp why people care so much. Like, I have listened to Taylor Swift since I was *nine* and couldn’t pick her current man (or the last one) out of a lineup if you paid me, meanwhile we got people harassing their favourite celebrities’ partners or wishing, hoping, praying for their breakup.
Do they think any of these people would be happy about this? That they’ll thank them or something? Or is does this all root back to ‘you should be dating me instead!!’?

It’s insane to assume you know a stranger, what their life feels like or what they should be doing instead.
Tbh, most celebrities aren’t trying to tell anyone else how to live and are also one or two steps away from career and financial disaster. The rationale behind that fear has been extensively documented, so they’re not delusional for worrying. They don’t feel safe; they know they’re living in an illusion. That alone is its own mind-fuck.
The most heart wrenching moment I ever witnessed was someone hiding under a craft service table with a knife threatening to end it all. They hid there because they no longer felt enough personal autonomy to decide where their body went. That person was at the height of their career, but the disconnect between who they are and what strangers think of them couldn’t be more opposed… and that crushed their will to create and exist.
Being any bit famous is like being the target of high school bullying. It doesn’t matter if you can look at nice things if your existence is ridiculed by people who can take nice things away.

I know it’s hard to look past the face behind art, but you’ll get closer to truth if you keep asking who profits the most.

Of course call him out for his apparent shitty views, but it’s never sat well with me how so many people’s biggest gripe with this man seemed to be with how he looks. As if looks really mean everything when she clearly adores the man. Idk, it was just always so mean spirited (and classist) from the start before we even knew anything about him.

I say this as a fan of her music, why do people act like Lana Del Rey was forced to marry him? She’s been singing about older man and doing poverty/trailer trash/americana nostalgia for years. This guy, MAGA and all seem right up her alley honestly.
But he’s right, I’m not going to give him a pat on the back for speaking out but people actively wishing for the downfall of their marriage are being parasocial and weird.
