After seeing the Oscars red carpet and the most-recent couture runways, then you might have noticed that feathers have been popping up everywhere—and Zendaya, who often charts her trends, embraced the fun with her latest look. But rest assured, she always has a surprise up her sleeve.
Over the past few weeks, the Emmy winner and red-carpet showstopper has been cosplaying (or possibly, leaning into her new real-life role) as bride, wearing various iterations of white, wedding-inspired looks as she promotes her new A24 film The Drama.
With the help of her image architect, Law Roach, Zendaya’s style has never seemed more sophisticated, or fun. And that all continued this week as she leaned into one of the hottest trends of the season, while managing to sneak in two method-dressing angles at the same time.
As she sat down for a Letterboxd interview with co-star Robert Pattinson, Zendaya wore an off-white minidress straight from the Genny Fall/Winter 2026 ready-to-wear runway.
One could argue that this look was a continuation of Zendaya’s bridal streak, just in a bit more of a buttercream hue. However, the strapless shearling design also brought to mind the sands of Dune, which has a third installment coming out this December. Did the reigning champ of method dressing just pull out two references at once? I’d argue that she did.

Look 4 from the Genny Fall/Winter 2026 ready-to-wear collection.
The design was composed of a bustier-style bodice with a structural peplum waist, which was molded with sharp ridges, as if it were made out of plaster. Then, the hem was lined with a striking curtain of yellow feathers dipped with dark ends (which not only leaned into the ongoing feather trend, but also looked like some sort of desert plant from the alien Dune universe). These two-toned feathers encircled a matching cream miniskirt that emerged underneath, and Zendaya accessorized her look with small silver hoop earrings.
Just when you think you’ve seen all of Zendaya’s tricks, she goes double method. And with a lineup this year that not only includes The Drama and Dune: Part Three, but also Euphoria, The Odyssey, and Spider-Man: Brand New Day, don’t be surprised if she has to start tripling or even quadrupling up her fashion references.
