Flavia
If lighthearted murder mystery is your thing, then this is definitely one to watch out for. Featuring a stellar cast that includes The Responder’s Martin Freeman, Mr Burton’s Toby Jones, Ted Lasso’s Annette Badland, Slow Horses’ Jonathan Pryce and Molly Belle Wright, the story follows the titular 11-year-old prodigy who discovers a knack for detective work.
Flavia de Luce finds a body in the cucumber patch of her manor home, though when her dad (Freeman) unexpectedly confesses to the murder, she sets out to clear his name – all while trying to outwit Jones’s Inspector Hewitt. However, the investigation exposes buried secrets about her dad and missing mother.
Adapted from the book series by Alan Bradley, the movie has been teased as a “beautifully crafted family film” by Sky Cinema’s Andrew Orr, with the film debuting on the service this weekend – just in time for Easter.
Streaming on Sky Cinema/NOW from 4 April.

Thrash
Phoebe Dynevor headlines this new survival thriller, which focuses on a coastal US town that is battered by a torrential storm. However, danger lurks in the water as sharks start to terrify the residents – among them the Bridgerton star’s pregnant character Lisa.
