She ain’t wrong. People from mainstream outlets, even theoretically progressive ones, are giving this album streams and press despite a half-decade of full scale Nazi shit from Kanye. Truly mind blowing that it wasn’t career ending. Marilyn Manson is getting high billings on tours and festivals again, too. People are way too quick to forgive things that shouldn’t be forgiven.

Kanye is trash and it’s disappointing that people still support his music. Yes he is bipolar, but that doesn’t excuse his vile behaviour.

  3. I haven’t listened to this new Kanye song and go out of my way to not support his music.

But it’s true that these male celebrities like Kanye, Snoop, Nelly, and more don’t seem to get half the scrutiny and criticism that women do. Chrisette Michelle still hasn’t lived that Trump inagutstiom down. đŸ˜Ș

She’s not wrong. Cancellation only hits women and if you’re a woman who isn’t white or straight? Hits even harder. Just look at what they did to Janet Jackson or Chapel Roan recently.

I think the real point is that men are never really cancelled no matter what they do, but lots of women have been excluded for nothing, or treated way more harshly by social media for the same things many men get away with.

I don’t think Billie is going to bat for the idea that “women are cancelled for anything” because that’s not what the damn ~~tweet~~ post said.

I don’t agree entirely. Daniel Cesar, Dababy, and R. Kelly most definitely got cancelled. I feel like Kanye and Chris Brown are kind of exceptions. Even though their popularity and reputation take a hit for being shit people, they’re so talented and have devoted fanbases that they’ll never fully go into obscurity.

  7. The even worse thing is that Kanye has made his crazy part of his music. You can’t even use the separate the art from the artist point with him. So many just don’t care at all.

she’s right and it’s so frustrating. especially when you notice how woc are also held to a higher standard

Did she lie tho ? Chappell roan is almost cancelled now and people who supports them are publicly shamed but men like Kanye, Chris brown still have career when they have done so so much worse shit yet they are still thriving, heck even DAVID has people that are still supporting him

Are 30.7 million people morons? Did 70-something-million people vote for Donald Trump A SECOND TIME? Not hard to believe

  11. I’ve been more pissed than usual about being a woman and yeah! it’s insane how oppressed half the goddamn world is. there’s no such thing as “the pill” for men, but many women are dealing with cancer and other issues because of it. There’s no such thing as breast implants for men, but millions of women have them and they make women super sick.

Women’s bodies are objectified and fetishized and legislated against. They’re covered up and demonized in religion, they’re owned like property through marriage. They’re trafficked and traded like commodities. Like, I know there are minorities but the RULING CLASS OF THE OPPRESSED? Women.

A female celebrity setting beyond reasonable boundaries by asking people to respect their personal life/space?

Drag her to hell and fuel the rampant sexism that plagues modern day society while we’re at it! She doesn’t deserve the platform she has because she’s an ungrateful bitch!

A male celebrity consistently does some absolutely abhorrent shit that is not only vile, but genuinely dangerous?

Ahhh it’s okay guys he was going through something. Why destroy a man’s career over sone things he has said in the past? Let’s move on by giving him, yet another, chance!

This pattern is truly soooo fucking exhausting. So many women in the public eye aren’t even able to breathe without being heavily scrutinized/torn apart. Meanwhile men keep getting away with some of the most disgusting behavior that would, in a perfect world, remove them from any platform where they’d be showered with praise and support.

I will NEVER be able to wrap my head around any of it.

I don’t blame her. However I am literally sick of people who can’t let artist go and still support them no matter what. Kanye was openly promoting dangerous values to where we see more people liking nazism today. But I also see somehow Melina Martinez still somehow touring and still has 15 million Spotify listeners despite her sexually abusing her friend. Drake openly was sexual towards a minor, texts teenage girls and has relationships with teenagers but still a large audience of women support him. Xxxwhatever openly confessed he beat a pregnant woman and both male and females still love him but thankfully he can’t benefit. It’s not a gender thing it’s a society thing and at this point we really gotta see the root of the problem which is everyone. Stop supporting weirdos.

  14. Chappel Roan nearly cancelled bc a hearsay story from TWO MEN, and Kanye can sell Swastika shirts during the Super Bowl and nothing but yawns

  15. Disagree, look at Kevin Spacey, Armie Hammer, Johnny Depp… nobody is hiring them

  16. BabyHercules on

It’s true but it’s not the women are more likely to get canceled, it’s that women typically have women fans and they are more likely to stand on business when cancelling someone. Let’s see how Nicki Minaj turns out and if the barbz leave her, I doubt it

  17. Warm_Perspective9180 on

Chappell roan gets death threats on the daily because shes apparently unlikeable and mean lol

  18. It’s hard to deny good music, bro is a shitty person but his music is good
