Erik Per Sullivan did not return for the Malcolm in the Middle revival as he is studying for a master’s degree at Harvard. The show offered him buckets of money to come back, and he just said: ‘No thank you’.
If I had the money, I would also be studying English literature. Glad he’s found his passion in life.

Turning down millions to study (and pay) for a degree in Victorian literature. To each his own.

Dewey took that bag & settled down, very smart decision. I’m very happy to hear that Erik’s going to school to get a degree, wish nothing but good luck for him. <3

Good for him, I’m glad he’s happy.

I assume he gets the residual from the old series?

Good for him. He has his priorities in order, it seems.

He deserves it.

I love how proud Jane sounds about him.

Good for him, and apropos of nothing, I can’t believe I’m at an age where a “Malcolm in the Middle” revival is a thing.

Buckets? I don’t get out of bed for less than bathtubs.

My favorite celebrity rumor of all time is that Dewie’s actor was sincerely in love with Frankie Muniz, who didn’t reciprocate those feelings, which is why he left acting and doesnt want to come back.

Wow. I didn’t know he was studying at Harvard

While I found the pap shot of him from page six (I think) nice (aka its not like he trying to cover up some egregious physical health issue that would obviously preclude him from participating) what an incredibly RUDE and INVASIVE thing to do – he obviously was not interested in participating – leave him alone! Dewey was so beloved and kind of odd looking, so there is defintely a “where are they now” market, but the man was carrying his groceries!
Also, is it typical in the lit world for mid 30s to be working on a masters instead of a phd? Im not as familiar with how that works, but seems a little funny.

It’s crazy, for how hard he denies the spotlight he’s got to be the internets biggest “where did they go?” Clickbait topic that everyone seems to already know the answer to. The people are so desperate for Dewey.

I think it’s less about getting a masters degree and more that he’s done with the entertainment business and is trying to live his life in private. His last project was in 2010 and he hasn’t been heard from publicly since then. Cant blame him though, I’m sure he doesn’t want to be known by Dewey for the rest of his life.

Not surprising. He always was a little Dickens.

That’s the most “Dewey” thing to say/do ever. I expected a hamster ball rolling in the background behind him as he said “No thank you”

In this economy?!? And a MFA or Masters in Literature from HARVARD? lol
Good for him if this what he wants. I’d have taken the offer and used the money to pay of my degree.
