This interview made me cry, you can see that Liam’s passing has deeply affected Niall.

  2. I’m not A 1D fan but he is one of my favourite Irish celebrities. He seems to be very grounded and humble.

That’s such a difficult feeling. I’ve had a few friends pass in the last couple years and that feeling haunts me almost every day. A missed call here and a unreturned text there when they’re being too much or hard to handle and next thing you know they’re gone and it’s too fucking late. Could I have pushed a little harder to get through to any of the three?? I just know.

That wasn’t really the main takeaway from this interview or even a key point he made so it’s crazy to see this as the headline picked out by media. If anything he said this in a very hand wavy way as something he vaguely thought about afterwards. This is a very baity headline imo.

Anyway I thought this interview was really good and emotional. I just hate the way the media hand picks completely out of context quotes for engagement especially with a topic like this.

  5. About a decade ago, 2 of my close childhood friends passed away within a few years of each other. I hadn’t talked to them since we were in school. But Jesus, it hit me so hard.

Losing people is hard. It sucks.

  6. We all ask these questions after losing a friend this way, Niall. It’s pretty normal, and we can never actually know if we could have, so we have to be careful hanging around the edge of that particular rabbit hole when we’re grieving.
