Alec Baldwin’s kids aren’t afraid to poke fun at his 26-year age gap with his wife, Hilaria.
On Friday (3 April), the American actor celebrated his 68th birthday, and his 12-year-old daughter Carmen hilariously didn’t want to let her dad forget his age.
The film legend and yoga instructor, 42, met at a restaurant in New York City back in 2011 when he was 52 and she was 27.
Despite Baldwin not looking for a relationship, he fell ‘madly in love’ and the couple went on to welcome seven kids – sons Rafael Thomas, 10, Leonardo Ángel Charles, nine, Romeo Alejandro David, seven, and Eduardo ‘Edu’ Pao Lucas, five, and daughters Carmen, María Lucía Victoria, four, and Ilaria Catalina Irena, two.
The actor also shares a 29-year-old daughter, Ireland Baldwin, with his ex-wife, Kim Basinger.
The Baldwins have always been candid about their 26-year age difference, while shutting down any criticism – but that doesn’t mean that their kids aren’t allowed to throw a joke in every now and then.
Baldwin posted a video on Instagram with his kids to celebrate his birthday, telling his 2.6 million followers: “Hey, it’s me. It’s my birthday. I’m 68 years old. What can I say? I’m 68.
“I’m 68 years old – what a way to turn 68. My favorite birthday before this was 40. That was a while ago.”
Carmen then jumped in with: “That was a really long time ago,” to which her dad replied: “How long ago was it, Carmen?”
Taking the opportunity to get a cheeky comment in there about her dad’s age, the 12-year-old burst into laughter as she said: “Um, so Mommy was 14?”

The actor simply opened his mouth in shock and penned in the caption: “God help me. It’s elder abuse.”
Reacting to the playful moment, one Instagram user wrote: “Happy Birthday, Alec and Carmen is really the best!!!”
While a second agreed: “Happy Birthday, Alec. Carmen has such quick wit.”
Others joked: “Oh damn, she burned you” and “My jaw dropped at the same time as yours.”

In November, Hilaria opened up about the couple’s age gap on the Uncut and Uncensored with Caroline Stanbury podcast, admitting that it has both positives and challenges.
She explained: “I don’t believe that age is just a number, at least in our situation. I think that there’s certain things where I have to look at him and say he has 26 more years of experience.
“And sometimes that’s a flex, and sometimes that means that we need to do a little therapy.”
