The all-stars version of everyone’s favourite jungle show I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here! is officially back for a second series – and yes, it’s bringing another star-studded cast with it.

From Gemma Collins to Sir Mo Farah, this new instalment of I’m a Celebrity South Africa rounds up some of the show’s most memorable names. But if you’re watching and wondering how it actually works, you’re not alone.

Here’s all the info on when it was filmed – including which parts you’ll be able to vote in!

When was I’m a Celebrity South Africa filmed?

Unlike the usual I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!, which airs live from Australia with an 11-hour time difference, the South Africa spin-off works a little differently.

The series was actually filmed in September 2025, meaning all of the camp action has already taken place by the time it hits our screens.

As we all know by now, usually Ant and Dec appear live in the studio, with viewers able to participate and vote for their favourite campmate, and each elimination carried out live on air.

But since the South African all-stars series of the show was filmed in advance, there’ll be no live voting during the main episodes or real-time eliminations.

This is the same as the previous South Africa series (which aired back in 2023). The first series was also pre-recorded, and had no viewer participation.

There is, however, one big change to the previous South Africa format. This time the grand final will be completely live.

For the first time in the I’m a Celebrity South Africa history, the winner hasn’t already been decided – so viewers will at least be able to vote for their king or queen of the jungle!

How does the I’m A Celebrity South Africa live final work?

Instead of flying everyone back out to the jungle, ITV will host the live final from the UK.

The entire celebrity cast will instead gather in a studio in London for a live broadcast, and – crucially – the public will be able to vote to crown this year’s I’m a Celebrity Legend.

Discussing with the former King of the Jungle, Sam Thompson, Ant and Dec said: “We’re going to get all the cast back, and we’ll have the finalists in the studio.”

“It’ll be a live vote like we do in Australia and the public will decide their Legend”, they added.

The final is scheduled to air on April 24th at 9pm.

Where was I’m A Celebrity South Africa filmed?

Series 2 of I’m A Celebrity South Africa was filmed near the Blyde River Canyon in Mpumalanga.

It’s covered in thick tropical forest – in other words, the perfect setting for some chaotic Bushtucker Trials.

We can’t wait to see how the celebrities fare!

I’m A Celebrity…South Africa starts on ITV on Monday 2nd April at 9pm.
