I know I should have been suspicious of him earlier, but I have written off Sam Altman as dangerously out of touch ever since he was quoted as saying that he could not imagine raising his newborn child without ChatGPT.

Why is it so relatable to me about having those two personality traits. I am an extreme people pleaser, while also having a complete lack of concern for the damage I have done in deceiving people.
Granted I’m likely not to the extent of Altman, and I have had to face my wrongs and actively seek help and be conscious of my tendencies. Being self-aware goes a long way.
But sometimes I think that if I had gone down a different path and made billions of dollars, I don’t know that I would be a very good person.
Just saw the new documentary about AI, and Sam agreed to appear, unlike Musk and Zuck. He seemed sincere and honest about the pros/cons. The interviewer/documentarian seemed content with Sam’s answers, though of course sociopaths can come across as likeable.
A video clip of another interview where somebody asked “why should we trust you?” to Sam, he replied, “you shouldn’t.” Which I think is realistic- doesn’t mean we *can’t,* just that we *shouldn’t* take any one person at their word when it comes to this stuff.
I trust Ronan, though, he seems interested in the truth. Can’t imagine he’s got an agenda when it comes to this topic. SO much to worry about and keep up with, the implications are staggering.
Sound like Sam Altman is your typical CEO nothing ground breaking beside how weird Elon Musk is. Investigating somebody’s sex life is just nasty work.
