So apparently the legal minimum wage in America is $15,100 a year before taxes so if he's paying him $1,000 a month he is actually breaking the law I'm not sure what the tax would be on $15,100 but I would imagine he would still be a couple of grand a year better off. Working for an influencer making less than $1,000 a month after taxes is ridiculous.
