Sebastian Stan in A Different Man

Sebastian Stan will be Harvey Dent in The Batman – Part II

We’re used to watching Sebastian Stan as an iconic anti-hero in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, but he might’ve lived long enough to see himself become the villain. As reported by Deadline, Sebastian will portray the role of Harvey Dent in The Batman – Part II, a name superhero fans are familiar with for all the wrong reasons. Despite the fact that he started his career as a district attorney, Dent quickly became the criminal mastermind known as Two-Face in the comic book world.

The fact that Harvey will show up in the Caped Crusader’s upcoming adventure doesn’t necessarily mean that we’ll see him lose his sanity and turn into a full-blown supervillain. However, there is evidence to suggest that such will be the case.

Renowned artist Devon Rodriguez recently had the chance to interview Mike Marino, the legendary prosthetic makeup designer responsible for crafting and bringing to life Colin Farrell’s look as Oz Cobb in The Batman and The Penguin miniseries. In the video interview, fans spotted a sculpture of Sebastian Stan, which could be an indication that the beloved actor will need prosthetics in The Batman – Part II, adding credibility to the idea that we’ll see Two-Face in all his terrifying glory.

The last time we saw Harvey Dent on the big screen was in Christopher Nolan’s The Dark Knight, which was released back in 2008. It’s been nearly 20 years since Two-Face took over the spotlight, so it’s nice to know he’s about to make history yet again. Better yet, he might not be alone in his mission to turn Gotham City into ashes.

Multiple reports indicate that Scarlett Johansson was cast to play the role of Gilda Dent, Harvey’s wife, in The Batman – Part II. Furthermore, it has been rumored that Viggo Mortensen is in talks to portray Christopher Dent after Robert De Niro turned down the role. All signs seem to indicate that the Dent family will have a big role to play in the highly anticipated sequel, with theories suggesting that either Gilda or Christopher could be the main antagonist instead of Harvey.

Director Matt Reeves previously stated that The Batman – Part II villain has “never really been done in a film before”, which adds weight to the idea that Two-Face won’t be the only bad guy in the room. Fortunately, Robert Pattinson stated that filming for the upcoming DC Elseworlds project will start in a few months, meaning official casting news should start to come our way soon, and even more villains will be revealed. But, for the time being, it appears Batman will meet a very familiar face soon.

The Batman – Part II will be released on October 1, 2027.
