A photo of Chad Michael Murray’s face before his pre-“One Tree Hill” nose injury has his fans in shock.
Pics of the actor, 44, have been circulating on social media showing him before and after his nose had to get reset when was 18 years old.
Back in 2004, Murray revealed he was attacked at a Burger King, which is why he had to get his nose fixed.
”I got jumped in a Burger King when I was 18 and had my nose put on the other side of my face,” he told Entertainment Weekly. “It was three guys — what the hell was I supposed to do?”
“The doctors didn’t even bother running X-rays,” he continued. “They just reset it. But it wasn’t a nose job — I hate the fact that people say it was a nose job!”

He again referenced his nose injury in an interview with Newsweek in August 2025, admitting he’s insecure about some of his physical features.
“I don’t like my nose because it’s not my nose,” he told the outlet. “I got jumped in a Burger King and my nose surgery was a couple posts, pop it back into place, hold two tennis balls at Cedar Sinai, and there you go.”

He also told Newsweek last August that he actually isn’t a fan of his nose because he feels it isn’t his.
“Looks like a totally different person WOW,” one commenter said.
“This can’t be real he was on Gilmore girls 1 year later and looked nothing like this,” one fan wrote.
Another fan observed, “A diff nose can totally change ur face cus this don’t look nun like him.”
A lot of commenters praised his post-nose injury look, too.
“Funny how things that seem awful can be a blessing in disguise,” one fan mused. “He was objectively good looking before, but almost *too* perfect. The nose after the break is more unique, gives him character and more of an edge, and makes him even more attractive.”

A Reddit thread dedicated to the topic jokes, “Imagine getting jumped and you come out looking better lol.”
Murray getting beat up at a Burger King wasn’t his only harrowing experience as a teen. He revealed he suffered a serious health scare when he was just 15 years old during his appearance on the “Great Company” podcast last August.
“My intestines had twisted, and I was hospitalized for two and a half months. It was a lot,” he recalled.
Murray said after he underwent surgery to correct the problem, he suffered internal bleeding.
“I lost 50 percent of my blood,” he added. “I was on my deathbed.”
