The runtime for The Mandalorian and Grogu may have been revealed by the North American theater chains.
AMC Theatres, Cinemark, and Regal are all listing the next Star Wars movie with a runtime of 2 hours and 12 minutes. This would mean it is approximately the same length as the two previous non-Skywalker Saga movies: Rogue One is at 2h 13 min long, and Solo‘s runtime is 2h 15min. We reached out to Lucasfilm for confirmation, but have not heard back as of this posting.
A previous listing by ODEON, a UK theater chain, had claimed that the movie would run for 2 hours and 20 minutes – which Lucasfilm quickly confirmed was a placeholder number. Our own speculation is that this was simply an estimate made by the chain as they plan out pre-show advertisements, to ensure they can fit the maximum number of screenings per day.

As always, take reports of runtimes with grains of salt, as films are still often being edited and adjusted down to the last possible minute before their big premieres, but it appears that AMC’s listing is most likely going to be much closer to the final product than ODEON’s. The movie is a little over a month away, so the studio has likely locked the edit already.
Star Wars: The Mandalorian and Grogu will be released in theaters on May 22, 2026. The film is directed by Jon Favreau, who also co-wrote the script with Dave Filoni. The film stars Pedro Pascal as Din Djarin, Sigourney Weaver as Colonel Ward, and Jeremy Allen White as Rotta the Hutt, and Grogu as himself, among others. Three-time Academy Award winner Ludwig Göransson composed the film’s score. Former Lucasfilm CEO Kathleen Kennedy and Ian Bryce will also produce alongside Filoni and Favreau.
