I hope the people attending enjoyed it because that would piss me off fiercely.

I don’t want to hear 7 minutes from anyone except the artist but especially not that person.

Hope you got the “revolution” from Trump that you wanted Susan!

Who has that much to say for 7-minutes and that too during a music performance????

Incredible is not how I would describe it.

I was excited to see her and then completely confused as to the point of what she was there to do.

The smug cloud from this will combine with the smug cloud from George Clooney’s Oscar acceptance speech and bring about the apocalypse

I met Susan at a Bernie rally back in the day. She was so kind and complimented me. We talked for a bit. She has been very active in progressive politics for a long while.

I thought this was really, really weird. I wish she had brought out a musical guest….

Also I guess someone else is gonna do it next weekend. Any bets on who?

  7. She was playing an older Sabrina in the future. It was a bit of acting in between songs to allow for a set change.

Very interesting. Should’ve been tightened up, but I love to see queens supporting queens

I didn’t get this at all. Is she playing a character? Is there a plot here I missed? Had no idea WTF was going on, and it went on way too long

I wouldn’t call it incredible but clearly they needed a lot of time to do costume and set changes so I understand.

  11. This was absolutely amazing. For all the comments not understanding this performance please save this and come back in 5-10 years.. this whole monologue will make so much more sense. Sabrina is way more than beauty talent and quick wit.. she has a bravery to her that is beyond what I even imagined. The vampires she experiences, the self doubt, the people who want her to fail (people she loved or trusted even) and her ability to keep going is astonishing. I’m thankful she took a moment to break from the norm of her feel good and free performances to present some of her deep feelings and understandings of life. I know us gals have been living in a deeply misogynistic society for ages and our survival instincts tell us to hate each other and stay above the competition to keep with the flow.. but in our guts we know we are not the real brave or free ones. Being truly free from hurtful people or their opinions never happens.. we can’t even be free from our own hurtful and judgmental thoughts of ourselves.. what we can do is face it and choose to remain brave and continue to be exactly as we are without compromise even if everyone hates who we are, or what we have have to say.

I realize I’m making no sense but I’m a 38 year old mom of 4 who has just broken away from fundamental Christian cult beliefs so yeah… this monologue made me weep.

This wasn’t incredible at all. It killed the momentum of the set and I tuned out after a couple minutes.

I hope Sabrina Carpenter and her team figure out a way to tighten things up for next week, because all the wardrobe changes and downtime were pretty ridiculous.

  13. When I saw her I was like omg is she gonna do a Janet Weiss song!? I was ready for some Rocky Horror Show performance leading into a song with Sabrina but then she just kept talking. I love a good drama moment but it sounded more like an old person rambling about back in the day stuff. Idk def wasn’t great.

I love Susan but it felt like it killed the momentum. And according to social media people in the crowd couldn’t even hear her so it was just Susan Sarandon sitting in a car for 7 minutes?

  15. HellKnightKilla on

The first two minutes were charming, but then it kept going

Brought the set to a complete halt

Did not like the Square plug

  16. I actually liked this a lot. Sarandon is one of the greatest actresses of our time and I’d watch her read the phone book. Monologue content was definitely some “I’m in my 20s” reflection and I wonder what Sabrina will think of it later.

Clever way to allow time for everyone to get changed and swap out the set.

“She’s happy, but she doesn’t smile.” Hit me a bit.

I think that, time and place. It’s a nice message from the perspective of a young star and where she sees herself in the future with the knowledge she has right now. Older Sabrina in a drive through having a mental journey is a cute concept. But time and place.

  18. This whole time I thought Susan was going to start up the car and drive it off another cliff?

    Have fun with your emergency?

  19. Genuine question since I’m not sure how this worked – did Susan Sarandon doing this cut 7 minutes off whatever time went into Sabrina’s scheduled set? Or was this an ‘break’ (for lack of a better term) put in by the organizers themselves?

Cause if it was the former I’d be pissed if I went to see Sabrina Carpenter and her set was cut down by 7 minutes.

  20. Did she talk about how she thinks Hillary Clinton is no different from Trump and how a revolution would be great because of course her privileged ass wouldn’t suffer? I hate this dumb bitch.

  21. buffayrachel on

Why are we doing a 7 minute monologue at a highly anticipated festival?? Girl, read the room

  22. geraffes-are-so-dumb on

Said before and will say it again:

As the mom of two Spanish-speaking brown children, I hate Susan Sarandon as much as I hate Trump’s lackeys. She wanted Trump to win so people would hurt and the “revolution” would come faster. My 13-year-old daughter, who still doesn’t have a SSN 1.5 years after gaining citizenship because Trump’s government has flagged her as a risk and her case is stuck at the NSA, has to be escorted everywhere because of ICE raids on schools.

The fact that she is still welcome in so-called progressive circles says more about our current issues being class issues than any monologue ever could.

“Some people feel that Donald Trump will bring the revolution immediately… if he gets in, then things will really explode.”

Fuck her and the rich people who think my family is expendable.

  23. I think headliners get more time, but damn, a usual musical guest gets like maybe an hour to perform, and now imagine 7 mins of that is just talking or whatever this is? Lol im sorry, im not much of a lore person, so forgive me if this has anything to do with anything, but god damn, just give me the songs please
