Jennie Garth Says Dan Schenider Gave Her Such ‘Bad Vibes’ on ‘What I Like About You’ That She Requested to Communicate Solely With Show’s Other Creator
> Garth recalled her experience on the show, in which she starred opposite Amanda Bynes, during an episode of Dax Shepard’s podcast “Armchair Expert.” She first mentioned co-creator Will Calhoun, saying he was producing “What I Like About You” with “another guy,” saying, “I’ve selectively forgotten his name at the moment. He was part of that big scandal — Dan Schenider.”

So he had hooked his wagon onto her.” Shepard asked, “Were you getting bad vibes?” Garth said yes, adding, “To the point where I said to Will, ‘I would rather just communicate solely with you. I trust you. I think that you have my best interests in mind, and I don’t feel that way with your partner. So I’d rather just be with you.’ And he was like, ‘No problem.’”

So 30 year old Jenny was so creeped out that she requested to only communicate with the other producer but left her younger cast mates to the predator. Am I getting that right? Are we suppose to be cheering? I am confused.

I went to an episode of filming and Amanda was attached to Jennie at the hip between takes and Jennie was cheering Amanda up through the shoot. This makes it sound like Jennie wasn’t protective of Amanda but in reality Dan and Amanda’s parents had basically handed her off to him and having her stay at his house.

I imagine thats why Dan was taken off as a producer after season 3.
What I Like About You was added to Netflix recently and I just did a full rewatch. I love that show, Amanda and Jennie are amazing in it. Leslie Grossman and Jonathan Wesley were also hilarious.

It is very well known and accepted that Schneider could at times be a total ass, could be very controlling of the shows who produced and created and was well known for raising his voice with lots of people… I take her comments to be along those lines
