  1. This video would have been ten times better if she either had been in pjamas (real ones not those that look like lingerie) or in a ball gown. Nothing in between.

These people know exactly what they’re doing and it’s disgusting. People love Olivia so she won’t be called out on this

Edit the down votes have started, Olivia seems to be the only celebrity that isn’t allowed to be criticized

  3. This was the first thing that popped up when I just opened Reddit and I got uncomfortable instantly. No offense to her but this is something beyond a babydoll dress which that name is crazy in general for a dress a grown women wears but I digress

Why is she dressed like that? Again not against pop stars acting sexy… It’s just why is she trying to look so young? It’s weird, it feels weird.

  5. Wasn’t her imaginary high ground over Sabrina Carpenter that she was supposedly “above” this stuff?

I’m so tired of mediocrity from people who have the resources to NOT be mediocre. The song, the vocals, the filming, the lighting, the visual direction, the outfit, the male-centeredness, is all a chop.

I’m sorry, cancel me if you want, but the child-like mannerisms here are so weird to me. I don’t even remember Olivia being this way in the past, idk why she adopted this now all of a sudden.

The mannerisms, the childish outfit, the swing and the outfit on the album cover, the bubble-gum, the doll in her avatar, some of the lyrics… I just can’t vibe with this era of her, too juvenile to me. Reminds me of Melanie Martinez and she creeped me out as well.

I do NOT like this rapid movement towards Infantilization of women. A lot of her young fans don’t see anything wrong with it and it’s understandable because they are hypnotized by this crap. But the whole ‘ I’m just a girl uwu’ movement is so detrimental to women in general. Women are not some damsels or ‘babies’ (literally this video) who need saving. They don’t just twirl around like children and have complex thoughts outside of ‘omg he’s such a gemini :(‘ . The whole simplification of our thought process to buzz words is so crazy to me and yes it’s just a song but this is a part of a larger shift in pop culture. So many young girls start emulating the way these popstars and influencers act. For every Christina Koch there’s ten other mainstream women to drown the achievements. This new generation is trying so hard to bring the 50’s back..

ugh I was so ready for her to grow up and mature her sound (and outfits) a bit more… this is not a step in the right direction towards me liking her

I’m glad everyone in this comment section is having the same thought process that I am because I saw this and immediately was like wtf. She is dressed as a literal CHILD. Laying in bed with knee high socks dressed as a CHILD.

I got downvoted last time I spoke of her Lolita aesthetic on the cover. I still don’t love it especially with the pose. I see some comments about how this style is on trend, which I guess is a 90s/60s call back. It feels over sexualized to a new degree this time around. Not because of Olivia specifically of course, but her, Sabrina, etc. all seem to lean into it. It’s an interesting juxtaposition against the manosphere/trad wife/husband knows best culture.

The backdrop of Versailles is amazing though!

Listen, I love Olivia for being so outspoken about reproductive rights, Palestine and using her platform to speak out about a bunch of other issues. However, I’ve always felt her music and her look is a bit too polished compared to the 90 and 2000’s musicians she wants to emulate. This is a very clean look that’s supposed to be like Courtney Love that’s coming off as sexy baby, especially with the bloomers. I’m curious about what the context will be in the video but as is, it’s not great.

Sexy baby isn’t cute and this outfit specifically isn’t at all with the weird skin colored sections and the bloomers looking more like a full diaper at some points.

I really really love the song and dancing in Versailles is a dream but I really thought she was going more mature.

If Sabrina and everyone else gets the Lolita/sexy baby accusations then Olivia def deserves it here.

That location could have been the absolute coolest place to shoot a video if they actually had a good concept and outfit
