We know what it’s like. You settle in on Friday night for a movie watch to end your week, only to spend your time listlessly browsing the streaming services and before you know it, it’s too late to start a movie.

Well, this is where Digital Spy comes in to help by highlighting the five best movies that have been added to streaming this week, along with some extra additions if our pick doesn’t take your fancy. From a Tom Cruise thriller hailed as a “masterpiece” to an all-time classic, we’re sure there will be something for you.

Here are five movies to add to your watchlist from this week’s new streaming additions.

Apollo 13: There’s never a bad time to watch Ron Howard’s Oscar-nominated Apollo 13, but perhaps it’s good that the brilliant retelling of the failed Apollo 13 mission landed on streaming this week, rather than before the Artemis II crew safely landed back on Earth.

It’s still one of the most accurate space movies we’ve seen, so if you just can’t get enough of NASA after being glued to the Artemis II mission, then this is the movie for you this weekend.

Best movie new to Prime Video this weektom cruise, collateral

Collateral: Otherwise known as the one where Tom Cruise played a villain, Collateral is as cool and exhilarating to watch now as it was in 2004. In case you’ve never heard of it, Cruise plays hitman Vincent and Jamie Foxx plays a cab driver unfortunate enough to have Vincent as his new customer.

As well as a strong 86% critical rating on Rotten Tomatoes, Michael Mann’s thriller is a hit with viewers too, with some even going as far to call it “a masterpiece of American cinema”. We’re not about to argue.

Also new to Prime Video this week: Beast (2017), No Country for Old Men, Gone Girl, Away

Best movie new to BBC iPlayer this weekgary oldman in tinker tailor soldier spy

StudioCanal

Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy: We know you’re missing Jackson Lamb and while George Smiley is a very different kind of spy, Gary Oldman is as excellent in Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy as he is in Slow Horses.

The 2011 adaptation of John le Carré’s novel also boasts an absolutely stacked cast of all your favourites, including Tom Hardy, Benedict Cumberbatch, Colin Firth, Stephen Graham and many more. We still get a bit lost among all the twists and turns, but it’s a damn fine watch.

Jurassic Park: A movie that shouldn’t need any introduction, Jurassic Park is now available to stream for free. Not that you need another reason to watch Steven Spielberg’s all-time classic, but the free aspect is an added bonus.

Six sequels later, the first movie still hasn’t been bettered, but if you want to remind yourself of those, they’re all on Sky Cinema or NOW if you’ve got a Cinema membership. The only one missing from UK streaming right now is Jurassic World Dominion.

Also new to ITVX this week: Liar Liar, Kung Fu Panda, Tremors

Best movie new to Channel 4 this weekriz ahmed, four lions

Four Lions: A second helping of Benedict Cumberbatch in this week’s picks, but in a very different movie. Outrageous black comedy Four Lions follows four radicalised British Muslim men who plan an attack in Britain, only to find that they’re really bad at it.

It’s absolutely not for everybody’s tastes, but a brilliant cast led by Riz Ahmed manage to make the darkest moments hilarious. The satire might hit too close to the bone, even 16 years after its release, yet it’s certainly unforgettable.

Also new to Channel 4 this week: Soul, Violent Night, Call Jane, Not Okay
