Alexandra Anna Daddario was born on March 16, 1986, in New York City. She was raised on the Upper East Side in a family with a diverse heritage, including Italian, Irish, English, and Slovak roots. Her father, Richard Daddario, is a former prosecutor and NYPD counter-terrorism chief; her mother, Christina, is a lawyer. Her siblings, Matthew and Catharine, are also actors, and her grandfather Emilio Q. Daddario served as a U.S. congressman.
She decided to pursue a career in acting at the age of 11 and secured her first television role at 16 as Laurie Lewis on the daytime soap opera _All My Children_. After attending the Brearley School and Professional Childrenโs School, she furthered her studies at Marymount Manhattan College, where she refined her skills in the Meisner technique, before leaving to dedicate herself to acting full-time.
*Breakthrough:*
In 2010, she made her debut on the big screen as *Annabeth Chase* in _Percy Jackson & the Olympians: The Lightning Thief_, and she reprised this role in the 2013 sequel _Sea of Monsters_. In the same year, she demonstrated her versatility in the horror genre by starring in the slasher film _Texas Chainsaw 3D_ as Heather Miller.
