Meghan Markle and Prince Harry received a heartwarming welcome from their children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, upon returning home.

The Duke, 41, and Duchess, 44, of Sussex arrived back at their California home on Sunday following an earlier trip to Australia this week. Meghan shared footage on her Instagram story capturing the sweet homecoming moment. A handmade banner reading “welcome home” and decorated with a red heart hung above the entrance to their residence.

As Meghan moved the camera upward, the family’s black Labrador retriever, Pula, bounded through the doorway into the house. Meghan’s beagle, Gus, died last year.

The Instagram story also displayed souvenirs the couple brought back from Australia. Their collection included children’s books featuring Australian wildlife, such as ostriches and koalas, as well as sticker books.

Sweets and a heartfelt note addressed to Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet were also featured in the social media update. Meghan playfully held up a Tim Tam, an Australian chocolate biscuit, as she pulled it from the bag, reports the Mirror US.

“Australia, you have our hearts,” Meghan wrote in a Sunday Instagram post, adding an emoji of the Australian flag and setting the clip to John Paul Young’s “Love Is In The Air.” Meghan and Harry’s Australian journey took them through Melbourne, Canberra, and Sydney.

The video compilation showcases moments from the visit, blending official duties with personal experiences. Clips show the couple at public engagements, including Meghan’s appearance on her podcast, Her Best Life, as well as private dinners and stunning landscape views.

The duo documented their journey across multiple entries on their official website.

They visited sites including the Royal Children’s Hospital Melbourne (RCH) and McAuley Community Services for Women, a “specialist organization supporting women and children experiencing family violence, homelessness, and related challenges.”

During their RCH visit, Meghan and Harry connected with children and families while discovering various holistic healing methods. Meghan participated in serving a communal meal with the McAuley Community Services staff.

The couple toured the Australian National Veterans Arts Museum, meeting with veterans and their relatives, viewing artwork, and exploring “the role creativity can play in recovery and community building.”

Their mental health focus continued as they heard students share their experiences during a session with Batyr, an organization dedicated to preventative mental health education.

Harry also spoke about the significance of positive fatherhood with Movember, an organization dedicated to men’s health issues.

The itinerary included additional visits, such as Bondi Beach, where the pair met with emergency personnel, those affected by the December 2025 Bondi attack, and officials from the Sydney Jewish Museum.

“The importance of connection – in care, in community, in service, and in leadership” reads the official website for the Duke and Duchess.
