This was something I never noticed until I worked for a Parisian company a couple years ago. I’m not sure what the fashion is in Paris now, but my coworkers always spoke about how they were confused why Americans wore gym clothes out and about lol.
Anyway, I wear gym clothes out and about sometimes, but I definitely naturally feel a lot more confident and seem happier when I’m dressed in a cute top and my orange corduroy pants.

No thx Stan. We tired, and they comfy. Try working a regular job in a regular life, and then we’ll talk.

Valid opinion, but as somebody who has both dressed up and dressed down, and now pretty much always dresses down unless it’s a special event, I can say that I am significantly more confident now that I’ve prioritized comfort.
I hate wearing clothes that don’t allow me a full range of movement in the same way that t shirts and sweatpants/loose jeans do lol. But maybe that’s just because I don’t care much if others think I’m ugly or unstylish. And I always like to be mobile all the time and be able to do physical activities any time.
More power to him and everyone who dresses up, I admire it.

I won’t be taking fashion advice from a man who cheated on his wife and left the room when she died because he couldn’t handle it.

I haven’t been to the beautiful outdoor mall near me in a long time. I went a few weeks ago and there were literally 5 or 6 stores selling different variations of sweats and yoga pants. Alo. Vuori. Luluemon.
I love to be comfortable too but it feels like a lot less people have actual style and presence these days as a result. I remember going to shows in the 90s and early 2000s and there were so many people experimenting with fun, different and unique styles. Now I pass by groups of girls getting out of school or walking around places in the mall and they all look like they’re dressed in the same uniform for bed. It kind of feels a bit lazy to me but I totally get I am viewing it through the lens of a middle aged woman that apparently doesn’t understand fashion anymore.
