Nah this ain’t it. Just because she said Inshallah doesn’t mean she’s now supposed to accept someone’s religion or holy book. It’s a sweet gesture but very misguided. We’d all feel the same way if a celeb was given a Scientology book, Bible etc on the red carpet.

I find it strange that someone gave her that – it likely came from a Muslim person (assuming – dont crucify me) and she is 100% not hanging on to that and it’s a known thing that you can’t just get rid of a Quran – you have to either bury it, burn it or submerge it in flowing water – but that copy is absolutely ending up in a bin somewhere.
It’s not even about the gesture, she could have been given the Dhammapada from Buddhism and it’s fine, but no other book has specific rules on not desecrating the text – but a Quran does and so that person giving it seems ignorant.
Just because she said Inshallah doesnt make her a muslim – if she said “God willing” in English, your first thought shouldn’t be to hand her a Bible…
It’s just a turn of phrase for a lot of People.

Some of these comments are not it; For context: Anne Hathaway grew up catholic and even wanted to become a nun but when her older brother came out and their community wasn’t accepting their family joined the episcopal church. She’s in an interfaith marriage with the husband Adam Shulman, who is Jewish. She’s very vocally a Christian and openly talks about god, hence the interview.
Idk if it’s a recession indicator but she’s very openly accepting of other faiths and has advocated for Muslim in multiple occasions, so idk why people would think she wouldn’t be accepting of it ???
She’s also left leaning, pro choice, an activist for women and lgbt rights, anti Islamophobia, anti Zionism (her agent at CAA got fired after critiquing Israel and she defended her) and prior to October 7, she release multiple statements calling a ceasefire, she also very recently spoke at the UN alongside Malala and even spoke about the important of journalism and the dictatorship in Chile.
