Royal biographer Tom Bowers has discussed the true state of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s marriage amid rumours that their relationship is on the rocks. The couple tied the knot in Windsor in May 2018, and have since welcomed two children together.
The couple stepped down from royal life in early 2020, less than two years after tying the knot. Speaking on the latest edition of Daily Expresso, Mr Bowers is questioned by host broadcaster and journalist JJ Anisiobi about the couple’s relationship – and whether a divorce could be on the cards.
He said: “I don’t believe they are [going to divorce]. There are tensions in relationships but I think in the end he needs her [and] she needs him.
“It’s a relationship based on a good business standing and so I am not one of those [people] who think that they are about to in any way break up.
“I think… on the whole, he needs her because he’s a lonely sad man, and she needs the label.”
Mr Bowers’ comment comes just days after Meghan and Harry returned to the US from a four-day visit in Australia.
The couple, who travelled without their children, visited Australia to carry out various joint and solo engagements.
Since flying back to California, Harry has now made a surprise trip to Ukraine.
Today, the Duke of Sussex joined the HALO Trust and travelled near the town of Bucha for a demonstration of the latest digital de-mining technology.
Meghan has not joined her husband on the visit; instead, she remained in California with Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet.
