She lost her adoptive parents, then her biological parents, her aunt (Jenna), her guardian (Alaric, though he came back to life), her brother (again, he came back to life) and her best friend (Bonnie, a few times), her boyfriend Damon (for a brief time). She literally went through so much.

I always felt bad for Elena for this exact reason 😢 she was only 17/18 and she lost everyone she loved 💔
