Our monarchy’s been no stranger to betrayal over the centuries from the murders of the ‘Princes in The Tower’, to the abdicated Duke of Windsor’s treasonous association with Adolf Hitler. But if Sarah Ferguson cashes in on her Royal Family secrets and inside knowledge of Jeffrey Epstein, that could be the worst betrayal of the lot.
Not just because she has so far refused to speak on the record to the United States Congress about what she knows of Epstein’s behaviour, nor is it just that the idea is frankly distasteful. It isn’t only that she could end up betraying her ex-husband Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor by detailing his ties to the dead US paedophile, nor is it simply that she could thrust her two daughters into the media spotlight again.
No – it’s because for years the traumatised victims of convicted pervert Jeffery Epstein have pleaded for help and closure over their abuse and they deserve much better.
It has been claimed that Fergie, 66, has been approached by an American journalist offering $2.45million for a tell-all interview about royal secrets and Jeffrey Epstein.
The former Duchess of York has been lying low at a luxury ski resort in Austria since losing her title and vacating Royal Lodge, the 30-room Windsor home she shared with the disgraced Andrew.
A source told Sky News: “Sarah’s come out of shock and is now furious at what’s happened to her life. She wants to sit down and tell her side of her association with Epstein – and what she knew in hindsight about Andrew’s association. And she’s got a lot to tell.”
The source said Ferguson was poised to go public with her account of the Epstein saga — and that her version of events surrounding Andrew’s involvement could prove explosive for the Royal Family.
The source added that during her long years inside the Royal Family’s inner circle she has allegedly been meticulous about preserving notes along the way.
The source added: “Sarah’s going to become a real thorn in the crown for Charles, William and especially Andrew.”
Both Fergie and Andrew have strenuously denied any wrongdoing regarding their friendship with Epstein but both are laying low.
Andrew is ensconced in his new Marsh Farm cottage on the King’s Sandringham Estate and has been rarely seen in recent weeks, while Fergie has only recently been tracked down to a luxury ski resort in Austria.
But if Fergie does agree to a tell-all interview – or even more devastatingly, an autobiography – then expect the media circus to flare up all over again.
For Fergie, it is all about money. She needs lots of it and she doesn’t have any other way of making it. Since the release of the Epstein Files in January her businesses have melted away.
But when the money has been taken and spent, the betrayal and hypocrisy could endure forever.
