Sean Patrick Thomas and Kerry Washington reunited for the Hulu series Reasonable Doubt — more than two decades after playing siblings Derek and Chenille in the 2001 dance film that made them both household names.
Washington executive produced the show and directed the pilot, while Thomas starred as one of the lead lawyer’s high-profile billionaire clients.
Thomas opened up about what drew him to the project, saying: “What attracted me to the role, obviously right off the bat, was the chance to work with Kerry again. That’s always been something I was looking forward to all those years after Save The Last Dance.”
And Washington was just as enthusiastic, calling out Thomas publicly on social media: “The work he does on this show is crazy good. He’s like an acting ninja.” Thomas responded with a throwback that broke the internet: “We saved the last dance.” 🕺
