Emily Ratajkowski may have birthed a mini fashion star, as the model, author, and entrepreneur gave a rare glimpse of her son Sylvester “Sly” Bear joining her in front of the camera. The 5-year-old seems to be already comfortable in the spotlight, and in a new Chanel Mother’s Day campaign shared on Instagram, Sly gives his best pose alongside his famous mom.

Ratajkowski captioned the post, “Never ever too much,” a nod to the sweet exchange captured in the campaign video, which is also a reference to “Never Too Much” by Luther Vandross.

In the voiceover, Ratajkowski asks her son, “You know what I like? What you say to me that makes me really feel good? When you say, ‘I love you too much.’ And then you say…”

Sly charmingly responds, “Never too much, never too much.” Ratajkowski then sings the line back to him, echoing the 1981 hit.

A model in the Making

Dressed in white pants and a crisp button-down shirt, Sly runs, plays, and poses naturally beside his mother throughout the shoot. Meanwhile, Ratajkowski wears a pared-back look of jeans, a white T-shirt, and a structured black blazer, accessorized with Chanel watches, layered necklaces, rings, and an ear cuff.

Ratajkowski might be known worldwide, and while she occasionally shares motherhood moments online, she tends to keep her son’s public appearances relatively rare. So, is Sly already following in his mother’s modeling footsteps? It certainly looks that way.

Letting Motherhood Shape Her Public Image

Motherhood has increasingly become part of Ratajkowski’s evolving identity. Since welcoming Sly in 2021 with ex-husband Sebastian Bear-McClard, she has spoken openly about parenting, independence, and raising her son.

During an interview on Late Night with Seth Meyers, the model shared her experience having a pandemic baby. “I think something about the pandemic, being pregnant, having that kind of weird sense of time that we all had when we didn’t have to show up places was really good for me but since he has been born I am the most productive person in the world, just because I – every second is for him and then there is extra time,” she said.

She also said she went back to work two weeks after giving birth, “because I was on deadline.”

“So I was like writing a book and breastfeeding every two to three hours. And felt totally insane and incapable of doing it. And now I’m here talking about it so I think things have worked out,” she added.
