It’s a bit of lore that a marriage that lasts more than six months in Hollywood is a long one, but what about those that have gone the distance?
There are, in fact, couples who married at a young age and kept on keepin’ on despite the bright lights of fame that can sometimes derail celebrity pairs.
Jon Bon Jovi and his wife Dorothea Bongiovi (née Hurley) are one of those duos — they met in high school and eloped nine years later in Las Vegas in April 1989.
More than 30 years later, their son, Jake Bongiovi, married young, too, tying the knot with Stranger Things star Millie Bobby Brown in May 2024.
While some expressed concern that they weren’t mature enough to get hitched, during an appearance on Radio Andy in May 2023, Bon Jovi told host Andy Cohen, “I don’t know if age matters.”
“If you find the right partner and you grow together … my advice really is growing together is wise,” the “Livin’ on a Prayer” singer said. “I think that all of my kids have found people that they think they can grow together with, and we like them all.”
Sofia Richie Grainge — model and daughter of singer Lionel Richie and sister of Nicole Richie — married at age 24, tying the knot with music executive Elliot Grainge in April 2023.
The young celebs follow in a long line of duos who wed young and are still together, including Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos, who also eloped in Vegas in May 1996.

Like his parents before him, Jake found his person at a young age. Bon Jovi’s son and Brown wed in a secret ceremony in May 2024, when he was 22, and she was 20. Several months later, the newlyweds hosted a lavish Italian wedding.
The pair first sparked romance rumors in June 2021, with Brown telling Wired for their “Autocomplete Interview” series in November 2022 that they “were friends for a bit” before they started dating. The couple announced their engagement on Instagram in April 2023.
A few weeks later, Bon Jovi publicly gave his blessing on Radio Andy, saying that he thinks “Millie is wonderful” and his son is “very, very happy.”
As for Brown, during a March 2025 episode of the Call Her Daddy podcast, the actress told host Alex Cooper she was ready to settle down with Jake.
“We’ve been together for four years, so I guess maybe when we moved in together,” the Electric State star said. “We had dogs together, and we were taking care of our animals, and we started living this day-to-day life, and I thought, ‘Oh, I really don’t think I could ever see you as anything else. I don’t want to be with anyone else ever again. I don’t want to date, I don’t want to meet anyone, I want you.’ “
Brown added that both her in-laws and her parents married young — her mom and dad were only 19 when they wed.
“So we had just, like, really young marriages. We had really great role models growing up, so we didn’t see any different,” she added. “We didn’t get jaded by all the other stuff, you know?”
Brown and Jake welcomed a daughter via adoption in the summer of 2025.

Jake’s parents, Bon Jovi and Dorothea, have been together since the 1980s.
The Bon Jovi frontman met his future wife in high school, when both were students at Sayreville War Memorial High School in New Jersey.
Though they had started dating as teenagers, the pair waited nine years before eloping at the Graceland Chapel in Las Vegas in 1989, at the height of Bon Jovi’s career. He was 27 at the time, while Dorothea was 26.
They told PEOPLE in September 2020 that “mutual respect” was the key to their union.
“We work hard at it, but we enjoy each other, and we never fell for the trappings of what celebrity can do,” Bon Jovi said. “We’ve witnessed that happen over the years to people that were close to us and people that we knew from afar.”
He added, “It’s just what I do, it’s not who I am. I write songs. I happen to be very good at performing them. That’s it.”
The longtime couple shares four children — in addition to Jake, they also have daughter Stephanie and two more sons, Jesse and Romeo.

Sofia married Atlantic Records CEO Elliot on April 22, 2024, in a lavish ceremony held in the South of France. She was 24, while her beau was 29.
The pair went Instagram official in April 2021 and got engaged in April 2022, but they were familiar with each other before things turned romantic, as Elliot’s father, Sir Lucian Grainge, was a frequent collaborator and friend of Sofia’s father, Lionel.
In April 2026, Sofia shared on her Instagram Stories that they were celebrating three years of marriage. Alongside a photo of her and Elliott holding hands outside their wedding venue, Hotel du Cap-Eden-Roc, the model wrote on-screen, “3 years ago I married my best friend @elliotgrainge.”
In another hand-holding snap, she added, “Forever @elliotgrainge.”
Sofia and Elliot now share two children: daughter Eloise, born on May 20, 2024, and son Henry, who joined the family on March 18, 2026.

Model and cookbook author Nara Smith is used to comments about her decision to marry and have children young.
She and model Lucky Blue got engaged in December 2019, just weeks after meeting in person for the first time. They wed in a beachside ceremony in February 2020; she was 18, and he was 21.
Since then, they’ve become parents to four kids: daughters Rumble Honey, Whimsy Lou and Fawnie Golden and son Slim Easy.
Lucky is also a father to an older daughter, Gravity, with his ex, model Stormi Bree.
“A lot of people were really questioning whether we were sane and doing it this quick,” Nara told Jay Shetty during a July 2025 appearance on his On Purpose Podcast. “But I wouldn’t have changed it for the world. It’s been great.”
In October 2024, Nara, who has been modeling since age 14, told Elle that she and Lucky “immediately locked into their relationship.”
“When he asked me to be his girlfriend, I didn’t say ‘yes,’ ” she said. “I literally said, ‘I take this very serious.’ And he was like, ‘Me too.’ “
Nara celebrated their sixth anniversary with a tribute video on TikTok in February 2026, writing in the caption, “18 year old me had no idea🥹🤍.”
As for their best relationship advice after six years of marriage, Nara told PEOPLE in March 2026: “Communicate. I feel like we’ve gotten really good at communicating with each other.”
Lucky agreed and added that meeting in the middle was just as essential to their longevity, saying, “I think it’s easy to really stick to your side on things, but I think compromising is really important.”

The Live with Kelly and Mark co-hosts have been together since 1995. The two first met when Consuelos shot a screen test for Ripa’s love interest on All My Children.
During an appearance on Radio Andy in August 2018, Ripa told Bruce Bozzi that the soap opera had been looking for a Latino actor for a long time.
Eventually, the casting director, Judy Blye Wilson, said she’d found their Mateo.
As it turns out, Ripa found her real-life soulmate in him, too.
“[Judy] showed me his picture and, Bruce, I’m not this person. At that point, I was not a hopeless romantic. I never thought about getting married, it never occurred to me that I would grow old with someone,” she said.
Ripa added, “When I saw him, the photograph of him, I saw my entire future with him flash before [me] — like I saw it. And I don’t believe in any of that, and now I do because of that moment.”
Ripa and Consuelos instantly fell in love. They eloped in Sin City in May 1996 and have been living happily ever after since.
They share three adult children, sons Michael and Joaquin and daughter Lola.
While chatting with her husband on a May 2025 episode of Live, Ripa admitted that she thought they got “married too young.”
“We got married at 25 at a time when people were not getting married at 25; they were getting married at 40,” the New Jersey native said, per Decider, later adding, “It worked out for us. But a lot of times when people get married that young, it does not work out.”

David Beckham knew he wanted to marry Victoria Beckham (née Adams) after seeing the Spice Girls on TV.
“I was in a hotel room with my best friend, who was my best man at my wedding,” he told Ellen DeGeneres during an appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show in April 2008. “I remember turning around — before I’d even met Victoria — and saying, ‘I want to marry that one.’ “
His heart’s desires came to pass. They went on their first date in 1997, got engaged in January 1998 and married at Luttrellstown Castle in Dublin on July 4, 1999, when Victoria was 25, and David was 24.
They even recreated their very purple wedding day photos on Instagram in 2024 to celebrate their 25th wedding anniversary.
They’ve since welcomed four children: sons Brooklyn, Romeo and Cruz and daughter Harper.
Victoria shared that the key to their long marriage is that they’ve grown together, and they continue to do so.
“So often in relationships, one will say to the other, ‘You’ve changed,’ ” the fashion designer said in September 2025. “Well, of course you’ve changed! You’re a different person when you’re 20 than when you’re 50.”

Two years after meeting during family vacations in the Bahamas in May 2007, Kevin Jonas and Danielle Jonas tied the knot on Dec. 19, 2009. He was 22, and she was 23.
Danielle later admitted to PEOPLE that, at the time, she “didn’t know who the Jonas Brothers were.”
The New Jersey natives are still going strong and have since welcomed two daughters, Alena Rose and Valentina Angelina.
For their 11th wedding anniversary in 2020, the oldest sibling and Jonas Brothers band member posted a photo on Instagram in the exact spot where they met 13 years earlier.
“I’m so happy you had to make that call 11 years ago,” he wrote. “This is the spot we met and I thank God everyday for the gift he gave me. Here’s to 100 more baby. I love you.”
In December 2024, Kevin told PEOPLE that their happy parentship is all “about communication.”
“If you really come down to it, and we are good and bad at it, we’re still learning each other. 15 years, you change, right?” he said, to which Danielle added, “It’s wanting to work at it.”

Justin Bieber and Hailey Bieber (née Baldwin) got married when they were 24 and 21, which the model told Elle in March 2021 was “insanely young. And sounds almost ridiculous when you say it out loud.”
“Although I do think for somebody like me and somebody like Justin, [it’s different],” she continued. “We’ve seen a lot for our age. We have both lived enough life to know that’s what we wanted.”
The two initially met briefly backstage at a 2009 Today show appearance for the “Baby” singer, according to Vogue.
Hailey, who was only 12 at the time, bashfully took the pop star’s hand after her dad, actor Stephen Baldwin, quickly introduced them, in a moment caught on camera and shared by a user on X.
Hailey and Justin reconnected at a church event in November 2014 and endured a brief breakup in 2016 before reconciling in June 2018. They got engaged the next month and tied the knot in a civil ceremony in N.Y.C. in September 2018.
One year later, the pair enjoyed a larger wedding in front of over 150 family and friends in Bluffton, S.C., on Sept. 30, 2019.
In August 2024, Hailey and Justin announced the arrival of their first child, son Jack Blues Bieber.

Bindi Irwin was 22 when she married Chandler Powell, but she and the former professional wakeboarder go way back.
The conservationist couple first met as teenagers in late 2013 and went public with their relationship in 2015, when Irwin competed on season 21 of Dancing with the Stars, which she and pro partner Derek Hough won.
Powell moved to Australia in January 2018, living with the Irwin family at the Australia Zoo.
By that April, Irwin knew she’d met her match.
“I think I have found my one, and I’m so lucky,” she told PEOPLE. “He is always encouraging me to follow my dreams, reminding me to stand up for what I believe in.”

Since tying the knot in June 2002, Taylor Hanson and his wife, Natalie Hanson, have become a family of nine.
The couple share three daughters, Maybellene Alma Joy, Wilhelmina “Willa” Jane and Penelope “Penny” Anne, and four sons, Jordan Ezra, River Samuel, Viggo Moriah and Claude Indiana Emmanuel.
The pair met at a Hanson concert in 2000, similar to how Taylor’s older brother, Isaac Hanson, and younger brother, Zac Hanson, were introduced to their wives.
At the time of their private wedding in Pine Mountain, Ga., Taylor was 19, while Natalie was 18.
“Our wedding was exactly how we envisioned it — romantic and intimate, and surrounded by our family and friends,” Taylor said in a statement to Tulsa World at the time, per Deseret News. “Natalie and I are looking forward to our life together.”
The “MMMBop” singer told PEOPLE in July 2022 that his and Natalie’s lasting marriage is built on recognizing what’s “essential” to each other’s needs.

When Sarah Michelle Gellar and Freddie Prinze Jr. first began dating, Prinze said they weren’t “into marriage.”
However, the actor told PEOPLE Now in March 2020 that “one day, I just knew we were gonna get married, and I knew I was gonna propose. I didn’t know when or how. And so I did, and fortunately, she was on the same page. My instincts were correct.”
The couple met on the set of 1997’s I Know What You Did Last Summer and have been together since 2000. They wed in September 2002, when Gellar was 25, and Prinze was 26.
They welcomed their first child, daughter Charlotte Grace, in 2009, and their second, son Rocky James, in 2012.
Gellar joked to PEOPLE in March 2026 that the secret to their long-term success was “one bedroom, two bathrooms,” which “stops a lot of petty fighting.”
