Good for them, honestly. They negotiated as a group and locked in that 2% residual deal back when networks thought streaming was a joke. Now they’re laughing to the bank every time someone needs a comfort watch. Meanwhile, most actors get pennies. It’s not unfair, it’s just smart business. We should all be so lucky to get paid forever for a job we did 20 years ago. Now I’m going to go cry into my paycheck.

Smart of all of them. Given how insanely popular the show still is on streaming and merchandise I’m not surprised it’s still bringing in millions.

Did Seinfeld cast do this? Because then they are also swimming in money.

They can thank David Schwimmer for that, he convinced the others to negotiate as a unit rather than individuals and he set them for life.

What happens to Matthew Perry’s share?
Since he didn’t have kids and wasn’t married

I didn’t read the article. I’m also not making a comment on their personal worth. This is just an unfathomable amount of money to me lol.
20 million a year? Like EVERY year?! Every single one of them? Baffling.

That’s why Matt doesn’t bother working, lol. And good for him!

As someone who regularly puts on the old seasons to fall asleep to, I am probably responsible for a lot of that streaming $$$.

As they should, it’s one of the best shows of all time and they were all fantastic in it.

I remember reading this at least a decade ago… I’m actually surprised it’s not more with inflation.

Wait so does the cast overall get 20 million or is it every major cast member gets 20 million each

So no one told ya it was gonna be that way…

So why did Courtney and Lisa feel compelled to do those gambling ads? Courtney should also have Scream money too. Also, how often is Friends played that the actors are accumulatively earning 100 mil every year?

If I made that kind of money passively you would never hear or see me again

How much money is the show still making for them to earn $20 million a year EACH? Damn, my jealousy is showing.

they’re probably the only show that makes that much money off their residuals

This was and still is sort of a double edged sword, it’s fantastic for the 6 of them, but it undeniably had detrimental effects on the actors who came after.

Is this from just regular residuals or do they get backend revenue too (percentage of the show I guess?)

Now tell me how much the cast of Everybody Loves Raymond makes

This is what I dont understand from the office cast. They came after friends, but signed crappy contracts.
