“Three teenage mariachi musicians who were temporarily detained by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) in February have been tapped to open for country singer Kacey Musgraves at several upcoming shows in Texas.

On Monday, Musgraves announced that the Gámez-Cuéllar brothers Antonio, 18; Caleb, 14; and Joshua, 12, would join her for performances at Gruene Hall from 3 to 5 May as part of her Middle of Nowhere tour.

The last of those dates is Cinco de Mayo, which commemorates a Mexican military victory over a French army at the 1862 battle of Puebla. That holiday is also popular in the US, where communities nationwide celebrate it.”

Is it just me or is that title misleading? I thought ICE detained them and was forcing them to open for Kacey Musgraves.

My now wife took me to her show once while we were dating. I never heard of her before.

I made a joke about the sheer amount of very nice looking blonde women in cowboys possibly hate crime-ing us.

She was like “oh no, look over there.”

And sure enough, there was a twink in full beat and a Beyonce Lemonade inspired outfit standing not far from us.

“Just because she plays an acoustic guitar doesn’t mean she is hateful.”

And that’s when I realized *I* had the prejudices the whole time. Meanwhile these very polite blonde ladies and their gay best friends were *fantastic*.

Good on her. She has a fantastic voice.
