In other words, eternal sunshine was the last record on her original deal and she just resigned with republic on new terms

The music nerd in me wants to know what deals the established girls are getting.

Years ago I saw Selena Gomez bought her masters and had her music under her own company SMG Music LLC that licenses her music to Interscope. And I want to say she got the idea from Taylor after what happened with her masters, though all I know is Taylor owned her masters/publishing after Lover probably under her own name until 2025 when she filed You Belong With Me LLC over all her music.

Anyway, I want to know how everything is split up between label and artist. Since it seems like now a label signs a contract giving them permission to use voice, image, and likeness of an artist for the purposes of streaming, physical distribution, radio, syncing, and promotional image material. And they get it with an agreed upon percentage while the artist covers the cost of making everything. So it’s better than before when a label would pay for everything, own it, and only give the artist a small percentage of their work.
