  1. If he left, his audience would follow. ABC is just a vehicle but he has the audience already. I would gladly get his content off of YouTube or something else where he didn’t have to worry about FCC/network censorship. It’s pretty ridiculous that this is even a conversation.

  2. From the article:

The Federal Communications Commission announced Tuesday that it is accelerating the review of eight broadcast licenses used by ABC, in a move that is a clear example of political and regulatory retribution against a disfavoured broadcaster.

The announcement comes after Trump called for Kimmel to be fired (again) and the White House has launched full-on attacks against Jimmy Kimmel over a joke he made about Melania Trump.

The FCC – led by Trump-appointed chair Brendan Carr – does not grant licenses to national television networks, it licenses each individual station that broadcasts on public airwaves.

ABC owns and operates eight stations, which were not scheduled to have to apply for renewal until 2028 the earliest and 2031 at the latest – but now they are required to apply for renewal next month, by May 28.

Review of what exactly? Maybe Kimmel should just take the show to YouTube and call it a day

this ugly fcc chairman going above and beyond when no one ever gives him a second thought

that being said, the one downside is that jimmy kimmel is making his ABC colleagues more vulnerable getting the FCC more involved in the first place

Wiping out the entire civilization of Iran is peaceful and acceptable but the simple but very funny joke of Kimmel was violent.

This is a cult MAGA kind of reasoning.

First and second amendment apparently applies only if you are MAGA or GOP.

  6. It’s very fitting that Disney owns ABC because Trump is acting like one of their villains because of his raging immaturity: Prince John

  7. I never really watched Kimmel but I am going to now. He seems like a funny guy if the president is so offended by his jokes.

I am sure that Republicans and conservatives are absolutely furious since they truly believe in freedom of speech and the first amendment. I’m sure stuff like this just infuriates them.

  9. WH using any excuse to get Kimmel off the air. The joke really has nothing to do with it. Just a convenient excuse. If the joke ever really was the issue, then they would have suspended Trump’s truth social account long ago.

But America. Do you see what is happening to you? It won’t stop with Kimmel, let me tell you.

  10. How far this country has fallen when some are holding a comedian to a hire standard than the president. Pathetic and shameful.

Disney should let their broadcast licenses go. They love the layoffs and their ABC and related Disney Channel crap is lame.

GOP memories are short. They will claim that none of this happened when the Democrats threaten to do the same to critics.
