Chet Hanks revealed that he has a new home in Nashville.
The 35-year-old son of Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson visited The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on Tuesday, April 28, when host Jimmy Fallon asked him about moving to Nashville to pursue country music.
When the late-night host, 51, noted that the Running Point actor now lives in “an RV park,” Hanks explained that he didn’t want to “get an apartment because I literally just got a condo in L.A., and I furnished it.”
“I didn’t want to do that again,” he said, explaining that he was staying in Airbnbs and hotels in Nashville until that got “really old.”
Hanks explained that he was inspired to live in an RV after taking a roadtrip to the Bay Area and staying in an Airstream trailer.
“I got a trailer. It’s not an Airstream,” he said, revealing that he got a Jayco Eagle RV instead. “But I’m really happy with it.”
“I got my kitchen,” he said. “I got a walk-in shower — that’s a big deal with trailers, if it’s a walk-in shower because sometimes they combine the toilet and the shower.”
When Kimmel asked Hanks if he is friends with his neighbors, the Empire alum said, “I’m probably the youngest person in the trailer park by like… probably by like 30 or 40 years!”

“It’s not what you think,” he explained of living in an RV park. “You think, ‘Oh, you’re gonna live in a trailer park. It might be a little sketchy. It might be a little dangerous.’”
Instead, he said, “It’s all just retirees, you know? Great people.”
“I do have a campfire outside of it. I have a fire pit,” he said. “But most of the time, I just do exactly what I do at home, which is just stay inside and lay in bed and watch Netflix and things like that.”
Hanks is back home in the States after revealing in late February that he was stuck in Colombia after going to Puerto Rico for a friend’s birthday and making his way to Medellín before heading home.
At the time, Hanks said he was traveling with his Greek passport because he is a dual citizen and his U.S. passport was “about to expire.”
