Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have slammed the royal family on more occasions than we can count since stepping down as senior royals in 2020.

Stepping back from their roles as senior – or working – royals, and abandoning their proposed ‘half-in, half-out’ model that was rejected by the late Queen Elizabeth II, meant the Duke and Duchess of Sussex became financially independent. It also meant that they no longer officially represent the monarchy.

This distinction has been at the center of ongoing criticism, particularly when it comes to their controversial overseas visits since 2020. While the couple have continued to travel, these trips were undertaken in a private capacity, not as official royal tours – despite often being perceived as such.

Prince Harry Tells Reporter He Will ‘Always’ Be Part Of The Royal Family In Viral Clip

During a recent interview with ITV conducted by reporter Tom Bradby in Ukraine, Prince Harry addressed his and Meghan’s recent unofficial trips to Australia and Jordan. When Bradby pointed out that Prince Harry is “not a working royal” – something which has been widely acknowledged since 2020 – the Spare author appeared to push back…

“Do you recognize that phrase, ‘not a working royal?'” Bradby asked. “No. I will always be a part of the royal family,” Prince Harry seemingly snapped. “I am here working, doing the things that I was born to do. I enjoy doing it. I enjoy coming to do these trips and supporting that.”

He continued: “The friends that I’ve made, and hopefully bringing attention to issues that, for one reason or another, drop out of the news because something else has popped up.”

While Prince Harry remains a prince by birth and is technically a member of the family, he no longer carries out official duties on behalf of the Crown. He also agreed to stop using his HRH title after he and the former Suits actress stepped down as working royals in 2020, further reinforcing the distinction between being part of the family and representing the monarchy.

Social Media Reactions

“He doesn’t serve the UK anymore, remove the title!” exclaimed one X user. “Harry is so dumb that he doesn’t know the difference between a member of the royal family vs Representative of Crown which he’s not,” pointed out a second.

“There is a difference in being part of a family and working for or with said family and Harry you chose not to work in the family business,” noted a third. A fourth chimed in: “Prince Harry is an embarrassment on the world stage. Yes, sadly for the BRF he will always be a part of the family. However, he will NEVER again have the status or prestige of being an official working royal representing the Crown and the U.K. Govt. We know that really burns him.”

A fifth added: “Part of the family? So is Andrew, so was the Duke of Windsor. But part of the working royal family? No. He doesn’t represent anyone!”

“This dunce excitedly left the royal family. Then went on to trash them for money on Oprah and in his book Spare. Now that he realizes he and his wife are quite literally nothing without his connection to the royal family they are desperately trying to get that connection back,” slammed a sixth.

“Whether he likes it or not, he is not a working royal anymore and he’s the one who wanted this. He is a private citizen that doesn’t represent the royals or his country anymore,” wrote a seventh. An eighth echoed: “He’s not a working royal. He’s a whiny [expletive] that grifts off his mother’s legacy that profits off of trashing his family and his country.”

A ninth asked: “Harold, we remember Oprah. We remember the freedom flight, Spare, the Netflix show, and the many, many interviews. You clearly did not want to be part of the Royal Family. What changed? Can’t take the reduced status? Running out of money?”

A tenth declared: “No. #PrinceHarry is not part of the royal family anymore. He’s a greedy, bullying, pathological liar.” An eleventh quipped: “Working and Harold don’t know each other. He really needs to get a job – maybe McDonald’s would hire this dimwit lazy grifter.”

“He’s in denial. Those titles are not birthrights; they signify roles played in service to the UK. King William will strip all undeserved titles and remove him from the family,” added a twelfth, as a thirteenth agreed: “Sounds delulu to me.” “He’s a failed minor celeb that is all. He’s a nobody,” criticized a fourteenth, as a fifteenth concluded: “He’s getting desperate.”
