Clooney previously appeared in Edinburgh in 2015 as part of his work with Social Bite. He returned in 2018 to collect an award for his charity work.

Fellow A-lister Leonardo Di Caprio has also visited the charity.

During his return to Scotland this week, Clooney attended a fundraising dinner at the Gleneagles Hotel on Wednesday, where he discussed his Hollywood career as well as his humanitarian work.

On Thursday evening, the Gravity star will be at the British Business Awards in Edinburgh, which aims to raise a minimum of £1m for Social Bite.

The charity posted about Clooney’s visit to its prototype village which provides housing for homeless people in small, sustainable homes.

The first Social Bite Village was launched in 2018, as an alternative to temporary accommodation for the homeless.

In an Instagram post, external, Social Bite shared images of the charity’s founder John Littlejohn with Clooney and Geldof.

The charity said: “George Clooney, prior to his address at the 4th annual Gleneagles Gala Dinner for Social Bite, checking out one of the prototype homes from the new Social Bite Village with the charity’s founder, Josh Littlejohn and Sir Bob Geldof.”
