The Prince and Princess of Wales are introducing the world to someone very special.
The royal couple took to Instagram May 1 to share a photo of their adorable puppy Otto, who is celebrating a special milestone.
“Welcome to the family, Otto! 1 today 🥳 🎂,” they captioned the post.
In the sweet snapshot, Otto looks directly into the camera as the wind blows the puppy’s fur and ears to the side.
Social media users instantly fell for the furry cutie and flooded the comments section with their well wishes.
“Oh, my heart is melting, what a beautiful sweetie!,” one commented.
Another wrote, “Hello Otto, you lucky dog, you are royalty now, and you get to live with an amazing family! 🐕👑.”
One Instagram user commented, “Well Otto certainly won the furmily lotto ❤️🙌👏.”
Otto appears to one of the puppies of the royal couple’s family dog, Orla.
In June 2025, the couple shared a new photo of William for his birthday. In the photo, he’s surrounded by puppies that were reportedly born to Orla, and the birthday tribute’s caption was signed off, “C, G, C, L, Orla and the puppies.”
It’s been an exciting week for royal watchers. On April 29, the prince and princess released a never-before-seen family photo to celebrate 15 years of marriage. In the picture, the proud parents lie down in the grass with their three children, George, 12, Charlotte, 10, and Louis, 8.
Orla also appeared next to William in the photo as he scratched her neck.
William and the former Kate Middleton have been fans of dogs for years. In 2020, the couple announced that their “dear dog” Lupo had passed away.
“He has been at the heart of our family for the past nine years and we will miss him so much,” they captioned the post.
In recent years, Orla has appeared with the family in several photos, including one of Charlotte as she prepared to turn 7 years old.
